They are similar to what I originally posted, just looking for a different file with a .sal extension. I've rewritten the instructions in places for conciseness and clarification. 1. Log in to your Simutronics account at the GS website and go to the Go Play! page. 2. Select the character with which you wish to play. Don't log in to the game yet. 3. Select either the Wizard or Stormfront as your client. 4. Click the Go Play! button. When you do this, your web browser should hopefully attempt to open a file ending in .sal. Save that file to your disk. 5. Open the saved .sal file in Notepad. The most important lines are the last three lines, starting with GAMEHOST, GAMEPORT, and KEY. 6. Now go into GMUD or your client of choice. Enter whatever comes after the '=' in the GAMEHOST line as the Host to which you want to connect. 7. Enter the GAMEPORT into your client's field. 8. Connect to the game. The client will connect and then appear to hang. What it's doing is waiting for your KEY and your front-end choice. We'll enter that in the next two steps. 9. Copy whatever comes after the '=' in the KEY line of the .sal file directly into the MUD client and hit enter. This will send your key to the Simu server; it will seem as if there is no response. 10. Now type into your MUD client the following (and then hit enter): /FE:JAVA That should connect you to the game. Re: [Audyssey] Follow-up to Simutronics playing through telnet
To further muddy the waters, here is a post I received from tech support about a year and a half ago. I never could figure out how to get this to work. Please keep me posted and let me know if you figure out a way to connect with something aside from zmud. ***message*** In theory it is doable, but the actual process is not simple. At the bottom I'll include the port information, but the best way I know of to get in using a third party client is, using a non-activeX browser, login via the website and try to log into the game. When it asks you what you want to use to open the file the system uses, save it. Now open that in a text editor, try logging in with your third party client, and use the contents of the login key you saved as the first string sent from your client. The login key is only good for a while so every login, you'd need to go through that process again, but in theory it does work. ===Port information=== General: (209.16.216.14) 5535 The launcher (209.16.216.14) 7900 Eaccess GSIII: (209.16.218.1) 4900 The game for Java folks (209.16.218.1) 80 Classes for Java folks (209.16.218.1) 4900 The game for Web/SGC folks (209.16.218.1) 10024 StormFront for Prime DR: (209.16.218.2) 4901 The game for Java folks (209.16.218.2) 80 Classes for Java folks (209.16.218.2) 4901 The game for Web/SGC folks (209.16.218.2) 11023 DragonRealms for eScape (209.16.218.2) 11024 DragonRealms for StormFront (209.16.218.2) 11323 DragonRealms: The Fallen for eScape Modus: (209.16.218.5) 4902 The game for Java folks (209.16.218.5) 80 Classes for Java folks (209.16.218.5) 4902 The game for Web/SGC folks CS: (209.16.216.14) 5180 The game HX (209.16.218.5) 16021 The game for Java folks (209.16.218.5) 80 Classes for Java folks (209.16.218.5) 16021 The game for Web/SGC folks CS2: 209.16.216 all above 1024 209.16.218 all above 1024 Please realize that all of the ports mentioned above are subject to change without notice for either security or technical reasons.
