 Hey,
Can I *please* explain my reason for doing this? And do you
really
trust people with your credit card numbers? Think those servers
are
safe? Well. Think again. In a servey someone did, 12 out of 14
people
agree that that internet shopping is not secure. I actually
wouldn't
mindd buying games, if you could waltse into a store, pick up a
cd,
pay th3 $40 bucks or ewhatever it is, and be be happy; no
worries, no
 problems. Get it?

Gma Tank Commander, and some others are really worth my time, and
eventually, even most of those lose their replay value at some
point. But I don't agree with Andy that pirating games is fun.

I agree with you fully. Cracking games is bullcrap. We're actually pretty
lucky if you stop to think about it. Most mainstream games, the new ones
especially, are 40, often 50 bucks. I've only rarely seen audio games that
passed thirty-five dollars and that was only because they were only
 available on CD.

That stupid kid! I guess he needs to understand a little more
about pirating. He's only 11 I think. But I might have to agree
with him on one point. Many of the games out there aren't really
worth playing. Rail Racer, Judgment Day, Super Liam, Lone Wolf,
Gma Tank Commander, and some others are really worth my time, and
eventually, even most of those lose their replay value at some
point. But I don't agree with Andy that pirating games is fun.

That's not a good excuse. You see, people buy software over the
net all the time. It may not be as secure, but it's much more
convenient. Also, I trust the devs of these games. I doubt that
 they will use that information.

I feel most accessible games are priced well. After all some sighte

2007-07-02 Thread Kerry Collins
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to give my two cents on this matter. I have been buying pcs
games and other games since they were out on computer diskette and I have
never had a problem with my credit card. I have been buying computer games
since I was the age of 18 and I am now 31. I do not believe in the piracy of
games or any other software. I think piracy is no better then walking in a
store and stealing something off the shelves you can argue it any way you
want too, but when it comes down to the bottom line its still stealing.

Sincerely,
Steve Cullen

Re: [Audyssey] Fw: piracy of games?

2007-07-02 Thread shaun everiss
Ok, ok, lets varify this shopping thing right now!
NOthing is secure.
Even with security systems those can get hacked by someone thats determined.
Now if you steel a shops database of credit card numbers or get into
a bank and steel their stuff its the same as robbing the till of a store.
Secondly I know where you are coming from.
Some may think net shopping is not safe but its reasonably safe.
If it wasn't then no one would use it.
I do understand where you come from though.
Someone at a shop, a real shop managed to set my dad's card with porn
subscriptions, and include his address and phone number in a hotmail
address so I realise why you think you are justified in thinking that
net shopping is not safe.
At the same time people and sites that are reputable should have a
good record.
Stay away from small places when you can if you are worried.
And there are ways consumers can check on opinions on what others
think of that place.
Some of these things are rated you know.
Anyway thats my 2 sence.
The net is not safe, heck life aint safe!
Its safe enough and you just have to watch your back, thats all.
But you are not in the same boat, a friend does not shop online
because he says its not safe and thats fare enough.
I tell you when that thing happened to my dad it did scare me.
I was also subscribed to various spam and porn lists once and that scared me.
So you can either get scared and go away or keep going.
And if something does go wrong you should be able to recover what you
have lost, or report things.

Set a credit card with 2000 dollars on it and only use that for shopping.
NOw someone decides to steal it.
Thats ok, they are only going to get 2000, cancil the card and get
another with 2000 on it.
We always do that when shopping online.
And all the blindgames I have got, well mostly use this card.
Every so often we top this up.

Re: [Audyssey] Fw: piracy of games?

2007-07-02 Thread Andy Smith
interesting idea. I have stopped cracking, packing, whatever the heck
ya wanna call it, I've stopped. And nothing will convince me to start
again, not even if it is some saved game that requires your id and
unlock code, I'd actually prefer to beat it myself, rather then
pressing a button and three more and win; thats no fun, at all. I have
stopped. And, xp is reinstalling right now. Well actually it's our
recovery disk that is reformatting now. And in aprox. 10 mins it will
start the xp setup. Then I can start new, and use the demos of stuff,
until I want to buy it, not pack it, not crack it, not steal it, not
do this to it, not do that to it, not...

Re: [Audyssey] Fw: piracy of games?

2007-07-02 Thread Bryan Peterson
And, there's another way which people don't necessarily think of. If someone
has a cell phone with a camera and they're really good and quick, all they'd
have to do is snap a picture of your card when you hand it to the cashier.
That does happen from time to time. It actually happened to me once when I
was visiting friends in Oregon.
It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you with no place to go.

 Subject: piracy of games?

 Hey,
I just thought I would tell anyone who is reading this, that
   pirating
games is fun. Though bad for the stupid game devs, who I
   frankly do
not and will not care about. Besides. $33 for racing? $25.00
   for a
side scroller with 7 levels? Now jd is a goodd price; I will
   agree on
that with some people, but frankly not many games deserve being
   payed
for. Besides; there is (no) replay value in anything! What do u
   guys
 thing? Should we continue pirating?

That does happen from time to time. It actually happened to me once when I

You know what, I think all blindness related software and hardware
should be sold at computer stores.
It would take the hastle out of buying all the stuff.
I'd like one day to buy a computer, and say I'll have, hal, jaws, and
a braille display with that thanks.
