[Audyssey] Getting a sega mega drive to work?

2008-09-01 Thread Darren Harris
Hi all,

I bought a sega mega drive off ebay. In the UK just to clarify things.
Basically I can't get it working. It came with the unit, an arial lead,
and the plug obviously. Does it need an rf switcher box or something? I
have a new tv certainly it's less than 3 years old that's for sure.
Basically the buyer on ebay is telling me that this isn't the problem.
But I'm not so convinced. Can anybody give me some help here?

Thanks.

Hi there

If you have a newer tv, you can easilly buy an AV cable, one with three
regular RCA jacks, and use it on your mega drive. You can get it usually
from goatstore.com. What model of genny do you own? Model 1 has a headphone
jack and volume control. Model 2 is smaller than model 1, and has two
rectangular buttons on one side each- on one side there's the power button,
the right side is the reset button. On the mega drive 1, you got a switch
for power on and off.

I absolutely love goatstore.com, it rocks.

Hi
I know for a fact you can get composite video output cables- the kind with
three RCA ends on them- 2 for audio (so you can have stario), and one for
video. Then, you would set your tv to its oxillery channel (there's usually
a button on the tv to do this right next to iether the channel or bolume
buttons, on the left). Or, alternitively, you might have to hit the channel
back button once to get into oxilleriry mode. Sorry, I can't spell that- but
hopefully it helps, anyway.
