2008-02-23 Thread Cara Quinn
Actually it's not. Locate the mod.cfg file in ID1 and open it in a
text editor. You'll see the line:

startdemos demo1 demo2 demo3

Add // to the beginning of it so that it then looks like:

// startdemos demo1 demo2 demo3

this will stop the demos from running.

Save the file after backing up the original and the game should start
silently.

Have a nice day!…

Well, I tried typing start at what i thought was the console and nothing
seemed to happen. That demo kept on going and I couldn't do anything.

Oh, so that's just a demo? That's not us playing the game? I wondered what
all that ruckus was about.

In the console, type the word 'pause' without the quotes. this
will stop the demo. Typing 'quit' again, without the quotes, will
quit the game and get you back to the launcher.

Typing 'start' will start the game. Typing 'tut' will start the
tutorials. Typing 'DM' will start a deathmatch.

Each of the above commands should also be followed by a press of
the 'enter' key.

These commands should be covered in the manual. I personally didn't
write the manual, but I did read it and will also go and have a look
again to make sure they are there.

Very sorry for the inconvenience. As I said, I didn't write it, I
only wrote the JQ docs! smile

Have an awesome day!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

yep, done all that, and when it says chose start game the demo goes
on. No way to get out, restart to normal play or even go to normal
play not a option. the consol window comes up, but still just goes to
 demo.
Read all the a grip stuff, witch in some parts the manual lacks very
much on play. Even on how to get out of that demo.

Hay Cara! Sly Here! Hope you are Well! Question for ya. I can't find the
j q 4.1 file with the extension .mod on your page. I see a .mod link to get
4.0 but not .1. I see three links, First JQ41src/. Then the second is
Jedi Quake 4.1 Documentation.rtf, Then the last one is Jedi Quake 4.1
Impulse and Key List.rtf. The later two files are read only, and the first
link takes me to another page but no jq 4.1 file with the extension .mod
that I saw. Am I missing something? I did manage to get the 4.0 mod, which
was listed next on the tree and It downloaded with no problems. Thanks for
the Very detailed instillation instructions, they were a big help in getting
the 4.0 version of the mod installed. Well Thanks and you Take Care! Sly!

Subject: [Audyssey] Important for anyone interested in, or having trouble
installing Audio Quake or Jedi Quake

Hello to those of you whom have been having troubles installing the game
 and / or the mod...

   1 visit http://tbrn.net/modgirl

 2 enter the AQ folder

note!!!, there is an AQ Source folder, this is not, I repeat NOT the
correct folder to enter, the correct folder to enter, is labeled simply
 AQ,
and AQ and only AQ is the correct folder to enter in order to find the
proper installations of Audio Quake... You will not find any other
appropriate installation programs anywhere else on this particular site,
 in
any folder, or otherwise displayed in any way, shape, or form, which will
in any manner, even attempt to come close to trying to actually be what it
 is you're after!!! smile

3 choose one of the two AQ installs

4 follow your browser's instructions to download the file

5 make sure the file name is correct, and one that you'll remember

6 set the save as type to all files

7 press enter or click on the save button, making a note of where you're
 saving the file

8 go and find the file you've downloaded

9 press enter or double click on it

10 a setup program will start; follow its instructions, making careful
 note
of what each screen actually asks you about

Note!!!, if you encounter an error after the first setup screen, as can
sometimes happen with Jaws, run narrator and repeat from step 9 above...

11 choose the options you'd like, as they are made available to you on
 each
 screen of the setup program

12 Note!!! you will want to download both the share ware Quake demo and
Mind Grid audio pack if you don't already have them installed
Note!!!, these options will be represented as checkboxes which you'll need
to check to tell the installation program that you want these particular
bits of software installed to your system. If these checkboxes are not
checked, the program will think you don't want these particular bits of
software installed, and you most definitely do, unless of course, you
already have them, in which case, you may leave these checkboxes
 unchecked...

13 make sure you have an active internet connection so that when you
 choose
these options that they will be able to be downloaded to your computer

14 wait for the downloads to conclude, which may take several minutes

15 When setup has concluded, click finish

16 click on your start button or press enter on same the start menu will
 open

 16 go to All Programs

17 locate the Audio Quake Program Group

18 Click or press enter on Start Audio Quake...

19 The game should come up talking, with a list of menu choices; listen to
these choices and then choose one...

 20 Enjoy the game!!!

 Now, for Jedi Quake:

 1 visit http://tbrn.net/modgirl

2 Locate the root folder, which is where you'll be automatically, when you
 arrive at the site

3 locate the version of Jedi Quake that you'd like, preferably, the latest
 one, which is 4.1

4 the file will be listed as one with a .qmod extension

5 follow your browser's instructions to download the file

6 in the save as dialogue, make sure the file name has not been changed to
 have a zip extension

7 if it has, then change it back to a .qmod extension

8 select the all files file type

9 click or press enter on the save button, making careful note of where
 you're saving the file

10 go and locate the file you just downloaded

11 check that the file name is still listed as having a .qmod extension

12 if it does not, then rename it to have a .qmod extension

13 press enter or double click on the file to open it

14 an automatic install should come up and simply narrate what it's doing

15 At the end of the install, you'll be asked to press enter

 16 press enter

17 click or press enter on the start button; this will open the start menu

18 click or press enter on All Programs

19 click or press enter on the Audio Quake program group

20 click or press enter on Start Audio Quake
