Hi Dark,
Agreed. If I had managed to release Montezuma's Revenge it would have
been an arcade game too, but it would not be a Space Invaders type
game. Therefore I think there needs to be an identification here
between side-scroller and Space Invader clones of arcade games. In
fact, if you have

Hi Ken,
Right. Although, games like Troopenum are close enough in concept to
Space Invaders to be considered a clone as they have the same basic
idea in mind.
In any case I'd definitely like to see Space Attack. We haven't yet
had a Space Invaders type game that truly compares to the original
around!

Hi Dark,
I need to make a quick correction here. You and Shaun are talking
about two completely different things. The Genesis Project by ESP that
James North was working on and my Genesis 3D Engine are totally
different software products. However, the similarity in names has

Hi
Hi Dark,
That's completely understandable. Although, I hadn't heard of the
Genesis Project either until Shaun mentioned it a couple years ago and
wondered if I was continuing that project. As it is I believe Draconis
has the rights to it, and have no plans to continue development on it.
So I'm not
Hi there, I had more shooting games in mind but am afraid they'd be classified
as Space Invader clones and hardly anyone would play it. What do you consider
to be a Space Invader clone and what suggestions do you have to separate new
shooting games from this crowd? I am listening! Thanks.

I would personally love a Space Invader clone, provided of course that this
one was in English. Lol. Seriously though, the Japanese one is an absolute
bear
What exactly do these space invators are. I myself played a few of them, do
they relate to the craft? And judgement day was one of the games my friend
asked to see if I could get a recording.

Hi Louis,
Well, while there haven't really been many accessible games that are
truly a Space Invader clone, per say, many of the arcade style games
out there like Aliens in the Outback, Troopenum, and Dark Destroyer
are close enough to the SpaceInvader idea/concept that they are
classified as
Hi Dark,
Correction. In Asteroids your ship is not stationary. You have
thrusters to move your ship forward, left, and right through the
asteroid field. You shoot the asteroids to break them apart and then
shoot the smaller asteroids etc until they are completely destroyed.
On the higher
hmmm, funnily when you said do they relate to the craft my first thought
was to do with wizardry ;D.
To answer your question though, space invaders clones refers to any game
based upon the concept of the early 1980's arcade (and later atari), game
space invaders, in which you have a gun, and
True tom, I did forget about thrusting, though whenever I tried this on our
atari 2600 it just made your ship fly in one direction aimelessly and nearly
always got you killed, so mostly I stayed stil.
That remake sounds awsome though.
I'm rather sorry the torrent project fell thru, sinse that
Hi,
Exactly. Not only the games you mentioned but in the early 1980's,
perhaps 1980, or so there was a game called Demon Attack which was
pretty much a knock off version of Space Invaders itself. Basicly, you
had this cannon which you moved left/right trying to shoot down these
demons with wings
Hi all. Thank you for your feedback. I wrote a game back in 2003 that was never
finished that is exactly a Space Invader clone, and now that I look back at it,
it may have been quite a failure to release it now. I am thinking of more ideas
that haven't been attempted and will let you all know

Hi,
Yeah, I was hoping to see Torrent as well. However, I still have plans
to create an Asteroid clone of my own. Problem is finding the time to
do it. Lol!
