Well as to voices, if you were going to take up this idea, I'd suggest
perhaps looking at a promotion with a manufacturer of synth voices such as
evona or seerprock, ---- rather like the one the Klango bunch have just done
with evona.
Say, work out a deal where by the program ships with one good quality voice
for free, and users are encouraged to buy the other evona voices if they
want more choice, also, sinse Evona did the deal with klango where you can
use their voices for free within Klango player but can buy them for other
applications, they might be receptive to such a proposition.
I'd very! much recommend such a program work with a good voice out of the
box, sinse I can easily imagine some poor person hereing microsoft sam (or
anna), which would be their default sapi voice, and thinking "yuck! what an
awful program"
My dad actually said something similar, when last night i was trying to fix
his laptop (which had lost the internet), but had to activate ms narrator
sinse obviously he doesn't have Hal installed.
