Re: [Audyssey] skypecasts
I don't like the comercial interfaces either. The sounds are good but you can't make your own schemes. I have thousands of sounds better than the stuff skype has. I would also like a sound for when someone picks up a call or you answer a call. Think of what a sttng scheme would be like. Friendly moderator's nudge here. When I replied to the original forward I was hoping it would spark discussions on whether using skypecast for our game conferences is an option. I'm not really interested much in how accessible the program is or not since we all have different hardware/software and different computer skills. So, let's either just talk about whether we want to move in that direction for the game chat which I've heard hardly anything on, or let's close the topic. smile. -- Whenever someone tells you to take their advice, you can be pretty sure that they're not using it. That's actually not true. While not perfect, Skype 2.X is useable with Window-Eyes 5.5, which I'm using here. I have JFW 6.X but have not tried it with Skype. Hello, Skype 2.0 or anything above is indeed accessible without scripts. Shaun, it's possible to use Skype. Yes, even the latest version. Try it out, play around with it... Not flaming here, but this kind of reminds me of when you can't beat a game there's something wrong with it. If we can all use it, you can too. Ryan So you sedate and drown in vain You've got a pill for every day A suit and tie to mask the truth It's ugly head is starting to show through Sometimes when you're out of rope The way to climb back up's unclear The walls you build around yourself I guess they also keep you here Are you afraid of what they think? Whoever 'they' happen to be Or are you hiding from the scars Of your own reality? The monster you're feeding, your lack of perception The things that you do to fulfill addictions The light at the end of your tunnel is closing What is it that you're so afraid of exposing You'd give it all up For what's there for the taking Whatever it takes to keep your hands from shaking The same things you're thinking might make you feel better The same things that probably got you here. - Aaron Lewis ___ Gamers mailing list .. Re: [Audyssey] skypecasts
A program is either accessible or it isn't. Scripts may make a program easier to use, but they do not make it accessible. If scripts can be made to use a program, then you can use the program without the scripts. It has been my experience not to take everything blind people say as gospel. Many of them don't like to learn to use a program. If it doesn't work the way they think it should, they declare it inaccessible. I always try everything, regardless of what i read on lists, as the information is not always entirely accurate. *smile* At 05:57 PM 5/4/2006, you wrote: I have jaws and hal and with hal skype doesn't work, at least 2.0.81 does not. Re: [Audyssey] skypecasts
In the hopes of seeing more accessible game podcasts, I will answer this question, as I fele it may be on topic for accessible game reviews and chats. Setting your sound card recording input to Stereo Mix or What You Hear will allow you to record Skype conversations with most commercial audio editing/recording packages. For higher quality, many podcasts are recorded on an external device, such as digital recorders. This Week In Tech is a highly popular one that is done in this way, and is the prefered method. At 06:17 PM 5/4/2006, you wrote: Hello, Just wondering what you use to record directly from skype? I co-host a podcast via Skype and have found it to work very well. I'm not sure how well it works with groups over three or four, as I've only got two co-hosts, but it works fine with three and four so I wouldn't foresee problems with a few more. For more info on the podcast, visit http://www.MastersCast.com ...shameless plug at the end. *grin* At 10:57 AM 5/4/2006, you wrote: I'm wondering if we an use this as a means of the Thursday and Saturday chats.
