[Audyssey] spelling in XP - Re: mac versus windows sales plus iOS question
I do have a spell checker that I found on the Internet. I use Outlook Express 6 and Windows XP home edition. The spell checker was free. I have it always running. It is not an inconvenience at all. Although I am a good speller, I do want to give a good impression, and I do make occasional typos and spelling mistakes. You want tangible benefits to a very small set of criteria, but life is made up of a combination of both tangibles and intangibles. It won’t happen to everyone, but the more blasé you are about the security benefits of upgrading, the more likely you are to be one of those victims. But again, this is an intangible that you will not care about until you are one of them. It is one thing to decide that now is not the time for you to upgrade. That’s your decision. Hi Charles, You are completely missing the point. The point Josh was making is that Outlook Express does not come with a spell checker by default. Microsoft intentionally left it out, because they wanted you to buy Office to get it. In Mac OS the spell checker is a core component and you don't have to go download some third-party spell checker program because it already comes with the OS. For some people that may have some tangible value and may be one more feature in favor of Mac over XP. Cheers! If you mean the last news post, please bare in mind that it was written on a train, with a very slow connection, and a laptop perched on my knee.
