Re: [Audyssey] IFDB client software/interpreter for linux/vinux
Hi Thomas, Just a note in case you need to compile from source. jzip uses termcap functions for I/O, which are in the ncurses library on Linux. A little Makefile editing should be all you need to substitute ncurses for termcap. The makefile you want is unixio.mak, not cursesio.mak. Hope this helps, Zack. It is probably available in the package repositories for your distribution, or if not can be found on the IF Archive and compiled from source easily enough. For Tads games, frobtads works very well and doesn't suffer from the same sorts of repeated text problems. Ok, will try it out - only real issue is can't boot flash drive on this machine, so will only be able to try it out on other machine, but, thanks, and will definitely give it a try. It is in the Ubuntu software repositories and you can get it by doing sudo apt-get install frotz and with it you can play most inform style IF games. However, it doesn't have speech output like Winfrotz TTS so you will need to use speakup or something like that with it to read the screens.
