[Audyssey] Organizing the Free Games Page

2010-06-17 Thread Thomas Ward
Hello everyone,
For the last few days or so I have been spending quite some time
giving the USA Games website a major overhall, rewriting most of the
pages and scripts from scratch, adopting a new color scheme, etc. As
well as updating the Paypal shopping cart system so everything is
ready for Mysteries of the Ancients 1.0 sometime later this year.
However, there is something I'd like your input about. I'm currently
updating the free games section of the web site, and I'd like to know
how you guys want all the games to be organized. One way I could do
this is put all of the free games on one single page divided up by
developer which I think would be quite a lot concidering the number of
games I plan to add to the free games section this weekend. Another
way is I could have the free games page simply promptt you to select a
developer like DanZ Games, LightTech Interactive, PB Games, etc and
then bring up a page with only that developer's games. What do you
guys think?

Smile.

Re: [Audyssey] Organizing the Free Games Page

2010-06-17 Thread David Mehler
Hi Thomas,
My opinion, I like your idea about having a separate page for each
developer, so that user's just have to find the developer they're
interested in. And if they don't know what they're looking for or
can't remember who made a particular game, perhaps an ordered or
unordered list of each developer's games, no descriptions just game
titles, that way the user knows exactly what's going to be happening
on the next page when they click on that developer link.

I would prefer each developer as a heading and their games under that
heading. I don't know about other screen readers, but this would be good
for users of JAWS, of which I am one. Of course, put your own free games
under heading 1? (grin)

Re: [Audyssey] Organizing the Free Games Page

2010-06-17 Thread dark

Hi Tom.

I think the dropdown box with the developer is a good idea, and if you want
to give people information you can always put a link to the games' various
entries on audiogames.net, sinse all of those games have pages and
descriptions (I redid the pb games pages quite recently).

Beware the grue!

Hi Thomas,
Well, the former option, considering the current amount of free games, would
work sufficiently well. However, if you are, as you said, going to add a lot
of games to your free games page, then the ladder option sounds great.

What do you
guys think?

Smile.
