Hi could someone tell me how I join the Sound RTS chat group?  I'm trying to 
join through the google site, but am not registered with Google but Hotmail.  I

Thanks, I didn't know that. So, on a Mac, the F 9 to F 11 keys are
used by expose, and F 12 by the dashboard. From something I have read
in another forum, for example World of Warcraft replaces these
shortcuts when it starts and restores them when it stops. I won't
probably do this, for it is probably a bit complicated (and if the
game isn't closed correctly, the keys are not restored in certain
cases) and not absolutely needed for this game.

One of these days I will put the key bindings in a configuration file,
so they will be customizable. But there is probably already a solution
for the F 10 key: during a game, Control  C and Alt F 4 might have the
same effect than F 10. Try them.

In the future, I will add alternate keys for the F 9 to F 12 keys.

Hi.
If you start a game with computers and you build a farm in a quiet
place, and you use control shift f2 to observe all the map, the
computer players will fight one against another. It won't be possible
to do this in the next release (beta 9e) because the computer players
will be allied so you will have a more serious opponent. You will
probably have the choice later. And the AI will be better too someday
of course.
Allying with the computer players ? someday maybe. It is not usual in Starcraft.

Hi robbert.

the Saw mill doubles wood production. Once the peasants have some wood (from 
wherever), if the Sawmill is closer they'll take it to the mill, rather than 
the town hall, but this really only has an effect if your dealing with woods 
quite a long distance away, rather than (as on map's 1 and 2), woods slap 
bang next to your town hall.

the main function of a sawmill though, is that it also lets you recrewt 
archers from your barracks as well as just footmen.

The Blacksmith isn't saying Upgrade saws but Upgrade Swords as in 
upgrade your footmans weapons, to improve their attacking skills.

In a similar way, when you've built a sawmill, you will have the options of 
upgrading your archer's armers, upgrading their arrows to inflict more 
damage, and upgrading the range of their bows.

In the current version of Sound Rts though, archers aren't exactly the 
strongest troops and not usually worth the expense, but this is something 
that might well change in version 9 of the game.

I don't believe there's any advantage in having multiple sawmills, in fact I 
don't usually bother building one unless I'm trying to upgrade my keep to a 
castle so that I can have dragons or mages, - and that's not possible on 
map 1, and takes quite a long time indeed on map 2. Map 3 I need to 
investigate a litle more, but I think it has more resources. The ability to 
create more maps with more resources is also something that's hopefully 
coming up in beta 9.

[Audyssey] Sound RTS question

I have a question for players of the Sound RTS V8 game.

I know building a sawmill will help wood production.
My question is where to build it?
If the town hall is at A2 and the woods are at say A1..
and I have a meadow at A2 and at A1..
will wood be produced faster if the sawmill is int he same square as the woods?
I know that when you get a blacksmith going, you can upgrade the armor of the 
foot soldiers or upgrade the saws?
at least I think it is saying saws?
if it is saws, how much better is the wood production with better saws?
is there any advantage to having multiple sawmills?
