Make sure there is no space after the last character in the host name.

I frequently get a service name error when using VIP, even though I've
checked and rechecked the host name and port number to make sure I've
entered them correctly. Mr. Greenwood says he hasn't heard about anyone
else having this problem. Has anyone on the list seen it, or am I all alone
maybe your isp is blocking ports somewhere.
