Hello everyone. By now you may have seen or heard that other mailing
lists have been hit over the last few days with a series of spoofed
emails. These emails are rather graphic in nature and appear to come
from posters on the lists. Although the contents of the messages might
upset you or make you want to report the person to the list owners,
please be reassured that these are nothing more than spoofed emails.
Anyone with the right knowledge can send messages, claiming they are
someone else.
The best thing to do if you receive such messages is to exercise your
delete key and do not respond since this just starts the avalanche, and
gives the idiot who is doing this the satisfaction that he/she is
getting a reaction.
So far from what we can tell, our list has not been hit, but at least 7
other lists that i know of have been hit.
