Re: [Audyssey] need help with adventure at c

2017-02-13 Thread julian dreykorn
Hi,
if it's still needed:
I am also a beginner, but found out how to do it still easier.
Spoiler Warning:
You do the users level until the first checkpoint. It isn't very hard at
all, if you kill everything which can be killed and get past the other
things. After the checkpoint, you can exit. You got bonuses which power up
the laser enough so that in the download program, one or two shots per virus
are enough. If you do it like this, you safe spending money in the shop.
Thx,
Julian

The viruses will run towards the program no matter what, so what you'll want
to do is run to the right when the fight begins. Run to the right until the
steel data, then go to the left a few steps, then walk one step right. That
way you'll have a firing chance, though you'll have to be good at rapidfire
spacebar usage if you want to use the knife. You can always get 150 bytes,
head to the shop and get the
5000 reload for your laser's battery. Then the challenge becomes easy,
though note that if you want to get an achievement, I'd recommend trying
with the knife first. Hope that helps.

The ring is in the tunnels where you hear the water dripping. I think you
had to search for it with one of the search keys (space/c/enter) and I
think it was near a wall/in a corner.

Hi Kelly,
Yes, there is another switch. I just kept following the walls until I
found both switches. I think the other one is somewhere north/northwest of
the repair switch, but my memory might be glitchy.

I'm currently on floor 3, and can't get past the water. I've found a
switch somewhere at the bottom, and when I press it it says it's found a
jammed switch, and that it's been repaired. After that, pressing the
switch just says it's currently recharging.
I'm assuming then that there's another switch I have to press, but I'm not
sure where. Is this correct? If not, how do I get past the water so I can
continue on?

Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help Using The WinFrotz Add-on in NVDA

2016-04-25 Thread jacob Kruger

Ok, next question - is this the NVDA portable version, or installed?

Ask since that can, at times affect the interface contents NVDA can
access, etc.

Ask since just downloaded the latest version of winfrotz interpreter,
which from the help menu now says it is also 1.19, and the NVDA add-on
seems to be working perfectly fine with this version as well.

For example, sticking to object review mode, if you use the numpad keys
7 and 9, soes it read out prior lines of text to you, or not?

And, that's when using desktop keyboard layout.

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help Using The WinFrotz Add-on in NVDA

2016-04-25 Thread jacob Kruger
While had previously, at times, been using winfrotz interpreter 1.16,
with TTS turned on, just installed both the IF interpreter, and the
winfrotz NVDA add-ons, and when turned off TTS output, NVDA 2016.1
worked fine with winfrotz, including both reading out textual output to
me, and letting me use object review keystrokes to review the text itself?

What version of the winfrotz interpreter are you making use of?

Asking since that's the only issue can think of - and, this is all on my
windows 10 64 bit machine, but, don't think that's too relevant.

[Audyssey] need help with level29 of blindfold racer

2015-05-04 Thread nicol
HI all
I'm playing blindfold racer on my IPhone5s.
I'm currently playing in practice mode level29.
I just cannot manage to make wind.
Marty told me that my IPhone's micorphone is situated where the charging
cable slot is.
NO matter how hard I blow into the microphone, I can't make any wind.
Each time I am told that I haven't made enough wind and that I must repeat
this level.
How do you guys do it?
I place my lips on the curved part next to the cable slot and I blow hard
but without success.
I tried both ways.
First with the screen facing me and then with the back part facing me.
Are you guys having any success with blindfold racer?
Many thanks for any help

Hi Dark,

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, with the Windows version, when I select
an object like the hammer, I'm unable to use it on the chair or anything
else. Instead, I get the with prompt, and can only select items like the
tongs, saw, etc. Pressing Enter on one of those also gives me the with
prompt, and the cycle continues. Basically, there's nothing I can do, the
game's effectively over at this point.

I don't like to be harsh, but I must admit, I'm glad I won this game,
because if I had bought it I'd be demanding my money back right about now. I
didn't find any patches for it on Ticon Blu's site, so if there are any I'll
probably have to contact them about it. Even so, this is absolutely
rediculous! I thought it was bad when, during the first Inquisitor game for
Windows, I encountered a number of bugs, the worst of which occured near the
end of the game.

It's because of poor testing like this that I'm no longer buying anything

[Audyssey] Need Help with kingdom of loathing

2014-10-23 Thread Sharon

Hi,
I don't know if my first question came in or not, I didn't see it, so
sorry if it double posts. Does anyone know how to combine the hammer
handle and the head I am just starting and I can't figure how to do
this. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sharon

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help with She Noire

2014-10-23 Thread shaun everiss

Hi kelly.
I got that game, now I forgot what I did, the game is logical, that
is everything is in inventory.
you have a few things you don't use, hammer with hatchet, and tongs
and cutters I think.

But to be honest some things had me scratching my head for a while.
Where I am stuck is not shin nwa but flarestar, I have managed to get
to level2 of training but can't seem to escape the drone.
I did manage to get to level3 once but then I couldn't find the keys
to free the 2 droids, and start the game propper the turret is a bare to.
I took advantage of the sale this month so it was only 50 nz bucks
for 3 games, audio speed, flarestar and shin nwa.

It would have cost me 30 pluss for each game.
And now I have everything bar the inquisitor series which after
playing one of them on a friend's system had me so bored I quit half
way through those are not for me.

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help with She Noire

2014-10-23 Thread dark

Hi Kelly.

It might not have been the chair, I'm sure it's a combination of objects,
maybe all the ones you'd use as tools, the hammer, the tongs, the file etc.
Generally if you choose the wrong object you just get a boop, so you can't
make a mistake with the puzzle, just try selecting stuff until you finish,
that was generally what I did with all of those sorts of puzzles and why I'm
afraid I can't recall the solution exactly.

Certainly nobody on audiogames.net has said anything about the game being
unwinnable on Windows, and I'm sure someone would have done if that had been
so, I personally think you haven't got the right combination of objects yet.

All the best,

Dark.
Take them to the refirbished chamber that was once bad!

Hi Dark,

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, with the Windows version, when I
select an object like the hammer, I'm unable to use it on the chair or
anything else. Instead, I get the with prompt, and can only select items
like the tongs, saw, etc. Pressing Enter on one of those also gives me the
with prompt, and the cycle continues. Basically, there's nothing I can
do, the game's effectively over at this point.

I don't like to be harsh, but I must admit, I'm glad I won this game,
because if I had bought it I'd be demanding my money back right about now.
I didn't find any patches for it on Ticon Blu's site, so if there are any
I'll probably have to contact them about it. Even so, this is absolutely
rediculous! I thought it was bad when, during the first Inquisitor game
for Windows, I encountered a number of bugs, the worst of which occured
near the end of the game.

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help with She Noire

2014-10-22 Thread dark

Hi Kelly.

Assuming it is the same as the Ios version, I believe it is the hammer or
the plyers you use with the torture chair and keys to get past that part.

all the puzzles like that in She noire work pretty much the same way, use
one object with another and get the right combination and it works so you
shouldn't have trouble finding the object.

I admit some of those puzzles annoyed me sinse you seemed to be using
objects that weren't either in the environment r your inventory which made
things a little confusing story wise, but hay the game was still fun.

Hth. Sorry I can't be more specific, I played through the game in two pretty
long sittings none stop so it's harder for me to remember specific puzzles,
especially sinse I don't think any got me stuck.

You're looking for a staircase leading up. Somewhere on the first floor
you'll find a teleporter that, if you step in it, warps you back to the

staircase noise. Go up and take the south teleporter. The others will warp

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help with Level 9 of The Blind Swordsman

2014-07-26 Thread dark

Hi Kelly.

The knight is imho the hardest fight in the game. When he charges he'll
attack you. Sometimes he'll just hit you once and charge past, however
sometimes he'll repeatedly attack you moving left or right. What you need to
do here is turn a little to center him after you block each hit, though this
is quite difficult. Block 10 hits and then attack to win.

Good luck!

All the best,

Dark.

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help with Level 9 of The Blind Swordsman

2014-07-25 Thread Karl Belanger
Hi,
The only tip I can give you is that when he does his series of attacks, there
will be ten of them, and then you will have a brief window to attack. The
timing between parries is tight, so I usually start mashing the down arrow as
soon as I hear him start yelling, until I hear the parry. Be careful with this
though, as jumping the gun by even half a second can get you skewered.

[Audyssey] Need Help with Level 6 of Awesome Homer

2013-12-28 Thread Kelly Sapergia

Hi,

I'm now on level 6 of Awesome Homer. I know you have to get to a parking
garage at the end of the level, but the instructions don't indicate what the
various sounds represent. I like hearing the various video game tunes in the
background, and notice they change quite a bit, but I'm not sure if that's
to indicate something's about to happen or if I'm getting close to my
objective. There's also a wind-like effect that's heard every so often from
left, right or ahead of me, so I assume this may mean a passage in that
direction. Sometimes, however, when I go to the left, for example, I get
killed by falling into a pit. At one point I also got attacked by a lion,
but there was no indication I was getting close to one. Can someone please
explain this level for me?

Thanks.

Another option, farther down the road, is to get a chess computer that can
be used, after any modification necessary, by blind people. By beeps of
different tones, you can tell where the machine moved its pieces. You have
to mark the black pieces for identification. I cut rubber magnet material
from a roll that match the squares and matching magnets and stuck them onto
the bottoms of the chessmen so they stick to the squares. Now, I can
examine the board layout while planning moves without knocking the men off
the board. Chess computers are good when traveling or when there isn't a
human opponent when you're in the mood for a game. You can set the skill to
just a bit stronger than you, so you can gradually improve. I have now run
into a problem, though. I bought a chess computer for home use that is
rated at around 2400, which will give Grand Masters a challenge. It beats
me on it's lowest level. Frustrating as all heck, but fun!

Hi James,

Hadley School for the Blind has a free course you can take that
teaches you Chess as well as gives you a free braille Chess set. Maybe
you will want to enroll for that class as I think it is exactly what
you are looking for here.

Cheers!

Before buying one, make sure that you can correctly identify the computer's
moves by word of mouth from others or by listening to the chess computer.
Try before you buy. Although I can determine the computer's move through
sounds, I could also use a light probe to find the lit LED in the corner of
the activated square. The computer that use most often is the Novag
Citreen, (I'm sure that I am misspelling that, though). You can find it at

www.classicchessandgames.com For modification, I bought the strip magnet
rolls at Wal-Mart for a couple of bucks.

Ron just about covered it. One of the programs he mentioned, which is one
of the best for the money is KChess Elite, found at

www.arkangles.com

When you sign up for the chess for beginners correspondence from

www.hadley.edu

you get the course material in the format of your choice along with a book
of raised illustrations to work with as you progress through the lessons.
You also get a chess set that has been adapted for use by blind players. I
highly recommend the courses from Hadley. The instructor is patient and
knowledgeable.

[Audyssey] Need help with making a partician

2013-03-30 Thread brice mellen
Hi, this might be considered off topic, I don’t know. But here is my problem
that I can’t seem to get help with.

I recently installed the homebrew channel and apps on my wii, and with it came
a usb loader for loaing games off of an external hdd, the thing is the only hdd
I have handy right now is my 1 tb. I managed to free up a little space on it
and I went to put a game on it and realized it’s formatted as fat32 so nothing
bigger then 4 gigs can be on it, but I cannot just format the whole drive cause
it has about 900 gigs worth of shows, movies, and mainly stuff I’m not real
keen on losing. So, I want to make an ntfs partician on the drive, well, the
windows 7 disc partician utility is not accessible, and so far I haven’t found
a single program for windows that is. Please help someone

there is a converter to ntfs I remember doing it
I think the command is convert but I have forgot
it havn't needed to convert for so long.

lets see
if I have it right run cmd in admin mode then type
convert d: where d is your driver letter /fs:ntfs
that should convert your drive to ntfs
and then that will dismount the drive first.
/v is for verbose but you may want to view info while it converts.
Usually its faster to just format a drive, but
you can convert as I say but it will take some time.

2012-12-29 Thread dark

Hi James.

Winfrotz has an entry on audiogames.net with everything you need including
link to the latest version:

http://audiogames.net/db.php?id=Winfrotz

Or if you just want to go straight to the developers' website you can
find it on:

http://freespace.virgin.net/davidk.kinder/frotz.html

Hth.

Btw, for future reference, www.audiogames.net and www.pcsgames.net are the
best places to look for games. the audiogames.net database has entries with
full descriptions, while the pcs games list has a list of websites that
offers a general overview.

This includes if interpreters as well.

hth.

all the best,

dark.

Hi James.

I hope you took the opportunity to download my Infocom archive I posted a
while back, if you didn't then let me know and I'll be sure to have a copy
made available to you. As for WinFrotz TTS, this has been superseded by the
WinFrotz main program which has TTS capability built in. If you want to use
JAWS to read the text however, another good interpreter is Filfre which can
be downloaded from:

http://maher.filfre.net/filfre/

All the best and merry Christmas, Ibrahim.

Yes indeed.

winfrotz tts is based on a version of winfrotz from 2002, so it's no wonder
it has problems on modern machines. While sapi support in winfrotz isn't
quite there, there is no peech interupt for instance, it's certainly usable
and absolutely uptodate, indeed I've been thinking of removing winfrotz tts
from the audiogames.net db sinse it seems to serve little purpose these days
and just cause confusion.

I have tried to send at least two emails a week to him, so if someone
could please help me out with this matter that would be great!
The issue that I am having is the game is not taken my register code so
I can unlock the full version.
I wonder if this could be do to the fact that I install it on a
different computer, I havn't had to request a key since I just use it
on my old computer.

But for some reason it won't take the code on my new computer.

[Audyssey] Need Help with Dimensions

2012-05-02 Thread Kelly Sapergia

Hi,

I just bought the Dimensions game. I think it's going to be a good one,
except that I'm now worried that I may have inadvertently bought something
from the Quantum Cells store without wanting to. I was trying to find the
beam button at one point, and ended up in the store. After not hearing the
beam while dragging my finger around where I should be, I restarted
Voiceover, which said that something was selected. Is there a way I can tell
if I purchased something? I sure hope I didn't, as I don't know how to
cancel the order or get my money back. As well, I somehow ended up in the
Transform lab, then a Quantum Cells guage, and now I can't get out. What do
I do? I'm now beginning to wonder if getting this game was a good idea.

Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Need Help with Dimensions

2012-05-02 Thread Kelly Sapergia

Hi,

I've only played Dimensions for awhile, but it's pretty good. It does take
some getting used to, especially when it comes to finding where things like
your beam are on the screen, but it shouldn't take long to figure out. I
figured out how to get an artifact, but I can't defeat the nefalem (or
however you spell that). During the training portion, whenever I tried to
get rid of one, the game voice kept interrupting itself, so I never got the
instructions right. I wish there was a way I could go back to that portion
of the game.

By the way, regarding my supposed in-app purchase, I believe that was just a
false alarm. Still, it's good to be careful, especially since the prices
they offer for more quantum cells can be rather high, such as the Ultimate
Pack for $79.95! Ouch!

Hope this helps.
