2011-01-13 Thread NIcol
HI Peter
Thanks for the explanation.
A song that comes to mind is a glen miller big band hit called pensylvania
65000. I have a recording where the band used some dtf tones.
Maybe you can use that song as music as intro or during the game?

dialed. They're also used by voicemale's to know what number you pressed
so
that you can navigate the menus. Each key has its own sound.

they aren't really useful in rl. Even themilitary is apparently using prefix

but those would be interesting, as I never heard those.

 Hi,
I'm thinking of coding a simple game, called dtmf guess. Basically,
you have 60 seconds to guess as many dtmf tones as you can, and then
there will be score boards and stats.
I might possily include other modes, for example musical notes.
 What do you guys think?

Subject: [Audyssey] thinking of coding a game dtmf guess

Hi,
I'm thinking of coding a simple game, called dtmf guess. Basically,
you have 60 seconds to guess as many dtmf tones as you can, and then
there will be score boards and stats.
I might possily include other modes, for example musical notes.
What do you guys think?

hi nicol,
dtmf stands for something like dual tone modulating frequencies or something
like that. Ok, ever dialed a phone? did you hear those little beeps? Those
are dtmf's. That are used by switching Equipment to see what number you
dialed. They're also used by voicemale's to know what number you pressed so
that you can navigate the menus. Each key has its own sound.
