Hello, Yes, that's right. Entombed 2 is completely separate from Entombed 1. Separate tech and completely re-written from the ground up. As for pricing, I'm not sure yet. I think it will be similar to Entombed 1's pricing. It's called the Skeleton Tower and you indeed do go up, but not in the alpha demo. The story and other additions I'll let you know later. I don't want to over-promise and under-deliver. It will be similar scope to Entombed. Possibly larger. Nearly all the game code is written in Lua and can easily be modified to make new additions and changes. The core of the game is written in C# and using Unity for cross-platform compiling. Sorry to hear it's not working on your Mac. I'm developing it on an iMac with Yosemite. I'd expect it to work on nearly any Mac, but it's still early. I might be able to improve the compatibility. Entombed two isn't even a paid upgrade it's as you said a separate game entirely, indeed it's being programmed right from scratch and is as I understand using different language and development tools from entombed, such as unity and lua scripting. Hi Ishan, Yes, you should be able to play Entombed 1 and Entombed 2 side by side. Entombed 2 gets installed to different location than Entombed 1, and do not conflict in any way. As far as I understand when Entombed 2 is released it will be a paid upgrade since it is a completely new rewrite of the game with different level maps, some new content, and in many ways an altogether different product from Entombed 1. As for your question about jobs like barbarians and brawlers that doesn't apply just yet. This is only an early alpha, and not everything is implemented like jobs and so on. Sleep should really only be used when you want to heal yourself since the very instant you hit a sleeping enemy he'll wake up and probably atack. There's still a thriving Entombed community, and Jason, the developer, has hinted at a sequel coming some time in the future, but as far as I can tell, there will be no more work done on Entombed. Again, there is still a thriving community aroud the game, so playing it is far from a waste of time. Josh, To be quite honest, I don't know. From what I have played, it is a really good project. After a few issues with registration, for a while, it worked, albeit with a couple of bugs in some of the later levels, but soon it stopped working completely, going only as far as to generate an error log on startup, and despite all sorts of tests short of literally reinstalling Windows, I couldn't get the darn thing working after that. I tried to email Jason but he told me some people were experiencing this issue and to download the latest update from the website. I did this but this time it just completely crashed and I think at this point even Jason was stumped as to what was going on. The only thing I can think is that either one of its dependencies has corrupted or I ended up uninstalling something it needed that the system requirements didn't mention. Kind regards, Damien C.S. HI, The link for version 1.05 is http://www.blind-games.com/newentombed/EntombedSetup.exe Your normal login information does not change. So use what you did before. As Thomas mentioned, the version on the link he gave is 1.02. And the latest build of that was 1.02K. Grab the one on the site that says version I, which is actually version J. Then grab the patch to upgrade to version K. The version 1.05 has a few bug fixes in it, but has a slight difficulty installing on windows 7. Hi, spoiler warning... the goblin card is random, it usually is given when fighting goblins in the goblin stronghold I think. the crystal card is given when the drake is defeated for the first time. the plague card is byable from the bazaar under special items for 2000 trade coins. Only problem is that if you get the plague card after getting other cards, you lose all the cards and have to get them all over again. The adventurer card is given when you combine thief and wanderer on the primary character. the druid is gained thru the joining of cleric and ranger for the primary character. Hi Nicole, Can you be more specific as to what files you can't remove? Usually rebooting will allow you to remove files from an uninstalled program. Another way is just to open the Windows command prompt and delete them manually via the commandline. Cheers! Hi, Entombed is probably up there as one of my favourite 2 audio games. It's definitely worth a go in my opinion. One thing that confused me the first time I played was as you walk around the dungeon you should hear footsteps which give you an idea of your movement but in an older version the footsteps sounds were turned right down so you couldn't hear them and because of this I had no idea what I was doing and whether I was moving or not and almost gave up on the game. I don't know if this was a problem you may have had when you originally played to but I believe the problem is now fixed. Hi Nicole, Can you be more specific? It would be helpful for us to know what has you confused, what you do not understand, and we can answer those specific questions. As it is now all I can do is attempt to give you a generic overview. Entombed is classified as a Roguelike roll playing game. That means you start out by selecting the gender, race, and job for your character. Races are things like human, elf, ogre, dwarf, etc.Jobs are the type of skills your character has. Jobs include things like mage, necromancer, fighter, bard, etc.Later on you will be able to select a secondary job which will give you more skills. The basic purpose in Entombed is to escape the underground dungeon where you and your pet wolf are entombed. You do that by wandering the various levels collecting clothing, weapons, armor,etc and by fighting off other enemy races. Along the way you will rescue other prisoners and they will join your party. Eventually you must fight and kill the Litch. Once you do you and the surviving members of your party escapes. Hi Keith, Actually, healers can heal mangled limbs. Its not stated in the documentation, but if you press the number for the associated limb and activate heal the healer should heal that mangled limb directly. It works the same way as aiming a harm spell at an enemies arm, leg, head, torso, etc only in this case you are aiming at your own limbs or torso. But does the slash key tell you what unexplored spaces there are? If so, then use this to find the stairs. if you are coming up from town, and you stand in the stairway down, go to thru a door and come back into the room. Hopefully this should reset the period key to the stairway down. If you leave that room or area, just note what directions you go to find your rescued character. The floor isn't that big so it shouldn't be too hard to find your way back. Or, is it possible to use your orb to take you to another floor? Possibly one that you haven't totally searched. HI, Not entirely true. You can be on the 6th floor, use the orb to go to town, walk up to the 1st floor, and orb back to the 6th floor, you don't need to return to town before using it. So in Keith's case. If he was on the 4th floor, and orbed back to town. Went up to the 2nd floor and tried the army cheat, the orb is still attached to the 4th floor as far as I know. So if he pressed f1 he would then be back on the 4th floor and would not need the stairs. Make sense? HTH. Good luck. That's true. I got stuck on the 8th floor, and orbed back to town, and then went up to the 2nd floor, and did the army cheat. But, then, the stairwell on the 2nd floor going down, and up, disappeared. Meaning, when I hit the period or comma keys, I got the number of steps and the directions to find the up or down stairwells, but when I reached them, and hit the corresponding key to either go up or down, the stairwell was not there. So, I had to restart the game with a brankd new level 1 character and do the whole thing over. Hi Keith, Unfortunately, I can't answer your question about the error message, but it sounds to me like there is a bug in the game dealing with the bizarre. For that I suggest asking Jason if he can shed some light on the error message. However, as far as difficulty goes it does tend to get more and more difficult each level you reach requiring stronger and more powerful weapons and armor. Plus given the random nature of the game I've found one time I will blitz through a level one game and end up getting pounded the next time. So there is no certainty of successfully getting through the same level the same way twice. However I think aprone said a couple days ago that the server will be going up and down when time permits as he is doing a hardware upgrade as well as other things. so hopefully we will get a bigger experience. HI, Double check the version you are running. If it is 1.02. then you should consider going to 1.05B. But if you are in a game, finish it first since the game files would not be compatible. If you are indeed running 1.02I, then download the file from the website and make sure it is 1.02K. There should be no problem with putting version K over I. IF you are indeed running version I, then that would explain a lot. As for the Bazaar, you don't use gold, just trade coins. You can hear how many you have by checking Bazaar Statistics. As for shops, when it tells you you've entered one, press the apostrophe key to activate the shop menu. You'll then be told how much gold you're carrying. Are you threatening me? I haven't played this in a while, but I believe that the solution is to level the character. If I recall correctly this has something to do with changing shape and the health not correctly working. You really got lucky (I had a char that ouldn't ever take a hit without dying). Her hit points have a max of 114, but only 110 healed. under that, it announces that she is slightly injured. So, I used a healing potion on her. Nothing happened. The extra 4 hit points are still missing. And when somone is injured, the game will announce what part of the body is injured. Nothing is read off for her. Any ideas of why this is happening? Hi Keith, One reason that sometimes happens is if the character loses a hand, foot, or something else like that during combat. If that happens you have to retrieve the missing body part, and use a reattachment spell to restore the character to full health. Although, I think the game should tell you if that is the reason so I'm not exactly sure why it isn't giving you a list of her injuries. You don't actually have to pick up the missing body part, so long as it's nearby. I should know since that's happened a few times during my Entombed LP. If that happens you have to retrieve the missing body part, and use a reattachment spell to restore the character to full health. Although, I think the game should tell you if that is the reason so I'm not exactly sure why it isn't giving you a list of her injuries. Hi Bryan, Lol! Oh, I hate when that happens. The Drake is especially nasty about biting off, a hand or foot and then eating it. One time he ate an entire leg turning my character into a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest for real. :D Good thing I was only playing the demo at the time or I would have been up a proverbial creek as that character couldn't stand or walk much less go to level 8 and beyond. The funny thing is that getting a leg bitten or lopped off doesn't really affect gameplay much, at least not beyond making it impossible for you to ever fully heal. You can still walk. LOL. If a person loses a leg they aren't going to be able to stand there and have an ax in one hand and a sword in the other as though he has two feet to stand on. At a minimum that character would need a cane or something to help prop him or her up.
