Hi,

I was able to purchase Future Boy a couple years ago. Even though the site
says it's no longer available to purchase online, I was told by a customer
service rep that I could send my payment via PayPal. I did, and got the
game a day or so later. There is a walkthrough available, but I can't
remember where you can get it. It was good, but there was an error
somewhere, and it took me awhile to get past it. Regardless, I agree that
this was a great game.

Hope this helps.

Hi Michael.

I have uploaded a copy of the game demo to Dropbox, this gives you a very
brief taster of the game play, if memory serves you get the tutorial
introduction and the first puzzle which involves springing the evil Claton
Eno from jail:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t05h9x3egvhmu8c/future_boy_demo.zip
Since the game is no longer distributed, perhaps you could email Kent if you
want to buy a copy, I have reservations about uploading my own because it is
still a commercial product and therefore under copyright, sorry to be
awkward.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Michael.

Well, firstly download the demo, try it out and see if you like it. Then,
when you're ready to make a purchase, send an email to

back.

As far as I could make out during my testing of the game, yes, it is
available to buy.

i personally just stuck on my incredibly good menues, and used the options
to turn on inbuilt speech, - which seemed much better as far as music
volume was concerned.

then again, I do the same thing with smugglers 3, so I'm not sure how
helpful this is.

Hi all,

What's up with this game? Has anyone gotten it to work? I tried, but I
couldn't get passed the first menu because of the music. It over powered
Jaws, and I didn't know what to do.

Is it still available for purchase?
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Wow Matheus, thanks! I'll look forward to trying the game sinse it actually
sounded interesting in it's own right, and thus far I haven't even been able
to try the trailor, sinse it uses quick time and I haven't bothered
installing that yet.

It is most odd though, sinse going to
http://www.generalcoffee.com/futureboy/demo.html there are no links on the
page and just the message The futureboy demo is not available for download

Hmmm, obviously they are stil hosting the file, but not putting links to
download it? How bizarre!

Re: [Audyssey] future boy first impressions

2007-12-26 Thread dark
I rather fancied this one, but could get no trailers or demos to run, or
even display from the site so ended up giving up with it. I haven't tried
any Hugo games though.

for Frotz, Tads adventures and Hal though, I don't find the navigation
usually a problem using the virtual focus. Turn all extranious things
9toolbars, buttons etc), off, then go to the top of the page and either
document read from there if it is new text, or press ctrl curser down to
skip paragraphs until you get to the last command you entered (usually
doesn't take long). I did fancy futureboy for the humer and the sfx etc
though, so if it's locatable I might investigate it further.

Subject: [Audyssey] future boy first impressions

 Hi all.
Well for christmas I got future boy, here are my first impressions.
 1. the manuals.
Good you need to get textpal from www.empowermentzone.com/palsetup.exe if
you are going to have any hope of getting a readable file.
If you don't then you will get lines running together, there is also a
garbage line at the top of the document which could be some ansi code that
tp does not recognise, you can safely delete it.
NOt that you really need the manual.

 The registration page is weird.
when you get to the part about which os, how do you put a check mark in
the form, I just put my os on the first line of the os section and
answered yes in the bracketed fields although I'd have thought that there
actually be a registration program not a manual one.
Oh since i have brought the game what are the benifits on registering the
game its not like you need to put in any activation key or anything.

 2. the game.
Its real good, and the hints are good with all the humor.
One note is that the game does not display all hints only on a situation
 by situation basis.
Thats fine unless you forget what the heck you need or you are not aware
 on what you need.
This has lead after 4 hours of game play to me doing something out of
order because I had no idea of the order at the time and I had to restart
because I now am missing something I needed before.
And unfortunately this will now have to wait for another time as there are
more selebrations to go to and being boxing day and all the sales I
actually need new shoes and things.
I am also dissapointed that there is no sapi5 or better support.
Do not use sapi4 unless you have something remotely good like viavoice or
something, actually its easier to use hal orpheus.
And thats another thing., I can't get the game to read in jaws 6.20, only
 hal.
There is also a graphics menu at the start which I mannaged to somehow get
 to stay off the screen.
 I also turned graphics off.

My over all opinion is this game is worth playing, and buying, hugo is the
most accessible engine I can see.
The game play area seems to be above the menus though which is a godsend
 for hal.
Also is the fact that only the current screen of text is shown.
The game has shortcommings however, however I wish there were more like
it, maybe I will be getting more hugo adventures from now on, Previously I
had pc exe files dos, frotz and tads, but getting access in the os windows
reminds me more of the os than the game, as I need to focus on navigation
rather than actual gameplay and I can't get emerced in the actual
 gameplay.
Another note to viewing the trailers and things.
Don't view the trailer file view the normal file.
I presume that most of you use mediaplayer classic in the klite mega codec
pack, the large file will not view, I've tried it.
