you can't, you have to exchange and then check your cash. If a planet makes your cash go low then its not worth buying. Re: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question
The game manager requires jaws. the game doesn't so when you start a game you need to put jaws to sleep and it will come back when you launch the game manager by hitting back space while in a game and then choosing game manager. - Original Message - From: "Che" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Saturday, May 20, 2006 1:59 PM Subject: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question So I think I have finally deciphered most of the instructions to Lords of the galaxy, but I still can't save a game. I had to enable jaws sleep mode for this game, so my arrow keys would work, but now when I hit the f 10 key to open the game menu, I get nothing. Is there a shortcut to turn Jaws back on temporarily so I can use the menu system? I tried to manually turn sleep mode off with jaws configuration during the game, but it didn't work. Or is there a way to save a game without using the screenreader? This is quite frustrating. Thanks for any help, Che ___ Gamers mailing list .. This game is cool. But I've been having problems with running out of coins too fast, and eventually I have to call for an S.O.S. Re: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question
Hi Che, yes, I am afraid you have to put Jaws to sleep manually and separately for each application. But these are great observations. There seems to be no way how to get directly to the game manager from the actual game, not even how to get to the main menu from the game. Means that you cannot really save a game currently in progress, unless I am missing something really basic. HOwever, I've found out that you don't really need to save your current game, unless you want to start another off-line game and keep the last one unfinished for later play. You can just quit the game permanently and if you then choose continue game from the manager, you'll be right where you interrupted the game. I guess the save feature is really meant for situations when you want to start another off-line game but finish the current one later. In this case, you would just exit the game, then start it again to enter the game manager and save your incomplete game. You would then start a new game which would overwrite the current data, but as you saved it to a separate location, you can load it later. This way you could theoretically save as many off-line games as you want (have no experience with online games yet) while the game itself can only keep track of just one game session. Hope this helps. But this brings several more possible improvements for you to think about, Igor. What about making the game manager a separate window that needs to be closed manually so that you would not lose it as soon as you start the game? Or you could add a keystroke to launch the manager directly from the game instead, or at least a key to get to the main menu. What about escape? This is one of the most intuitive and standard things used in most accessible games (and not just the accessible ones) nowadays. :-) Also, by the way, would quite like either a keystroke in the actual game or an item in the game manager (if you implement these improvements to access the manager easier right from inside the game) to tell you how many free planets are remaining. Thanks. These are not meant to be flames, just constructive ideas to make the game as atractive as possible. Re: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question
When I first ran the game, I created a new offline game, then set jaws to go to sleep from the main game, I never had jaws configured to sleep on the manager screen. One person here said to hit tab to get to the game manager, the other said alt tab. When I hit tab, I get the planet info, which is what the instructions say should happen. Alt tabbing doesn't work, as my game manager is not showing up in the list of programs. Here is what the instructions say: You can save your current offline game if you need. Hit F10 to activate the main menu. Select item offline and hit enter key. Select item save and hit enter. Type the name of the file in which the game data will be saved and hit enter key. You will get the message window. Hit enter to close this window. Game will be saved and you will be in game manager program. This also does not work. It looks like the person that wrote these instructions was assumeing you were already in the game manager screen. These instructions overall are really awful, and so far this has made for a frustrating game experience. Am I supposed to run another copy of the game to get a seperate game manager screen? Isn't there a shortcut key combo to make jaws go to sleep, or do you have to do it manually from the configurator? Re: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question
I also put jaws to sleep but have no such problem with the game manager. You just alt-tab to it and it seems to work fine. One possibility that springs to mind is that you may have accidentally made a configuration file which tied to the game manager so that jaws would go to sleep while that's showing. Re: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question
Hi Che, This is how I have saved a game: 1) PRESSED TAB 2) WHENT TOT HE ITEM CALLED GAME MANAGER 3) IN GAME MANAGER, GO TO FILE AND UNDER FILE YOU WILL SEE A OPTION TO SAVE GAME In order to play the game, put JFW to sleep when the game comes up (after you have started a new game from he game manger menu). Put JFW to sleep in the game and awake into he game manger. If you still need help, give mea buzz -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Che Sent: Saturday, May 20, 2006 3:59 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question So I think I have finally deciphered most of the instructions to Lords of the galaxy, but I still can't save a game. Re: [Audyssey] Lords of the galaxy question
there are 2 programs for log. 1 the game manager. do not have jaws sleep for this program. you will want jaws to sleep for the actual game, and thats that.
