Hi Ron, Have you tried the sapi repair program DelUserLex.exe on my site? There is also Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Speech Then, press enter on Sapisvr.exe. It won't say anything, but it should correct the control panel entries for Sapi. Hi, Sapi 5.3 is a core Windows component and if you are having troubles with it you should reinstall it from your Windows installation cd if you have one. You will need to go through the Programs and Features option in the control panel and have it reinstall it from there. Unfortunately, it has been a while since I have had to reinstall Sapi 5.3 on Vista and am not able to give you step by step instructions here. Hi Jim, As I recall Sapisvr.exe no longer ships on Windows Vista and later. I haven't seen it on Windows 7, and I don't remember it being on Vista either when I was still using Vista. So I'm not certain that is necessarily a solution any more. Although, it is worth a try. Cheers! Hi Ron, No, not really. There is no official separate download for Sapi 5.3 and Sapi 5.4 you can't just download and install them like Sapi 5.1 and earlier. Sapi 5.3 comes with Vista by default and 5.4 comes with Windows 7. There really isn't a way to grab a package and download and install it the way you could with 5.1 and earlier. I've heard of some hacks floating around the net where someone grabbed all the 5.3 and 5.4 components and bundled them into an install/upgrade, but those aren't official by any means, nor would it necessarily resolve your problem. Hi Jim, Ahem...No offense but that is a seriously bad move. The Sapi 5.1 voices and libraries aren't supported on Windows Vista and later. Vista requires 5.3 or higher so I have no idea what installing the 5.1 libraries and voices will do to his computer. Whatever the case I don't recommend it to be on the safe side.
