The safe place is in the middle of the south most wall in the outer ring.
I think its coordinates are 11,2 but I could be off.
If you are traveling west just use control left arrow and you will turn into 
it.

If you are going east, then control right arrow.

Hi,
Well, not that I am aware of. You just have to move as fast as you can
and scare the ghosts out of the ghost house so you can grab the fruit.
Usually the power pill will last long enough to reach the ghost house
if you know your way around the maze pretty well.
