Re: [Audyssey] gaming magazine wanted

2011-05-27 Thread Ron Schamerhorn
Hi Charles

I'm pretty sure I still have both articles, and the solution file was
already in #55. Though I'll double check this on my end.
I'm hoping within a week for the next one. Hoping the ideas for dbx
recovery work then I'll be able to cover alot of the ground that's happened
in the gaming world. It does seem like alot of turf. I'm hoping I won't
have to go through archives as the time it involves but we'll see.

Take care
Ron

You've had rough times, tough luck on the PC, and have been busy with life.
With that in mind, I'll surely wait for the next issue of the magazine. If
gamers have sent you some stuff, should we send it again? I know that I
sent two articles, and I think I still have both of them, although I'm
thinking that one of them was published earlier. Both articles concern the
Hi Q puzzle and variations. One described how to make the Hi Q puzzle and
the rules of the game, the other discussed a successful solution.

 Hi all

Yes I do plan to put issue #55 out soon.
I've had some complications however. Twice I've had to get the computer

 wonderful.
On another note yes I know I dropped the ball. Life Isn't always good
stuff. It's been a bugger since the last issue 54.

While the below isn't sent as an excuse for not having the issue ready I
 do hope there's some compassion.

As Mike said I've had some computer troubles. So if anyone knows how to

95% ready. I just want to include some of the older emails about game
 development and such.

I think dbx extractor is what you use from jfwlite.com
But it seems like you have loads on, if you want you can dropbox me
the dbx files and I can probably see if I can extract those or whatever.

No it doesn't upset me, I know audyssey was supposed to have a
scheduall but yeah I understand if all the family stuff, it does come first.
It would be good if there was some sort of release schedual, I know
it was supposed to be every 4 months, but if you are bussy its fine
if its once a year or every half year I don't mind.
It just would be nice to know when stuff should be ready, etc.
As I said though if you need any assistance while working issues or
whatever then I can help.

Hi Dark

Yes well for sure life has cleared up. There are still some minor things
but in the next week I'm intending to focus on the previously mentioned dbx
files for a thorough update on the gaming scene.
If it's not possible for whatever reason then I'll send out what I'm able
and provide both the PCS and AudioGames links for catching what I might have
missed for people to update themselves. so I'll say in advance the dev
section is big. However I'm pleased as there.are hopefully an article or
two that no one has yet read. That's the part I go for is the articles.
Let's face it basically on this list [though not forgetting the mag only]
folks are fairly up to date about things. I'd figure the thoughts,
comments, and such are more of a draw.
With good fortune #55 is heading out soon.

What I actually get from this myself is the positive message that despite
various troubles your back, and will be bringing out issue 55 afterall,
pluss will hopefully not have similar problems in future.

This is great news and I for one will be looking forward to the new issue.

Beware the grue!

Hi Ron.

What I actually get from this myself is the positive message that despite
various troubles your back, and will be bringing out issue 55 afterall,
pluss will hopefully not have similar problems in future.

This is great news and I for one will be looking forward to the new issue.

Beware the grue!

HI,

The program you want to extract the files out of a .dbx file is called
dbxtract. I don't remember where I got it, but you can google it, or
download it from the following URL:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13968355/dbxtract.exe

Works really well.

One described how to make the Hi Q puzzle and
the rules of the game, the other discussed a successful solution.

as editor of the magazine, he'd better learn to type, spell, and communicate
better. Based on his posts to lists over the past several years, the
magazine would be a very poor example of quality, which would be a reason
for terrible and unjust prejudices against blind people by a lot of sighted
people. I don't know about other people, but I have printed issues of the
Audyssey magazine and sent them to sighted friends to show what blind people
are doing as far as gaming is concerned, and that we can produce quality
writing through our own skills and the skill of a good editor. Shaun would
absolutely kill that angle and, unfortunately, launch us way back into the

Re: [Audyssey] gaming magazine wanted

2011-05-23 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,

I hate to say it, but I agree. Anyone thinking of working as one of
the Audyssey editers better be able to type, spell, and have a good
use of grammar. Also it would help if the person doing the editing has
a fairly decent understanding of punctuation rules. I don’t know how
many people forget commas, periods, let alone colons, semi-colons, and
other less used punctuation marks. I’m not expecting perfection, but
merely someone who has a good idea of how to publish ae-magazine with
decent standards.

Cheers!

I know this will sound harsh, but I think it is reality. It is meant as
constructive criticism, and I hope it is taken that way. Having said that,
I've got to say that if Shaun Everiss were to even think about taking over
as editor of the magazine, he'd better learn to type, spell, and communicate
Shaun would
absolutely kill that angle and, unfortunately, launch us way back into the
stereotypes we all try so hard to overcome.

2011-05-18 Thread shaun everiss
well if we need a new editor I could do it or at least help, I don't
pretend to have a large ammount of time, which in fact I don't, in
fact I am quite bussy.

However i have more time than most to do bits here and there.
Its true I don't have days to waste my life away but still I have a
few holes between projects and always have some time for the online community.
