Hi Yohandy,
Oh, I know. I never said ESP Whoop Ass was anything more than a very
very simple game, and that really wasn't my point. I just wanted to
point out that reaction time to block the punches in that game is hard
and takes practice. I assume here you had to do a fair amount of
practicing to
some gameplay for you and explain
what's going on?

Hi Yohandy,
Oh, I
Thomas,
I think all we'd need are some sound indicators to warn us when to jump,
duck etc. For example in mainstream fighting games like street fighter 4,
there are actually sounds for this sort of thing. when a super or ultra move
is performed on street fighter 4, it makes this distinctive

Actually, in Q9, you can hear some of the enemies a split second before
they
attack. You have to move quickly though, otherwise...

Hi Philip,
Very true. The problem is a difficult one to solve because we are
working with an audio only medium. I've added some ways to avoid
attacks such as ducking or jumping over enemy attacks, but players of
Mysteries of the Ancients still tell me they don't know when to duck or
jump. That's

What I don't like about the game is the fact enemies seem to hit randomly
with no way for the player to dodge regardless of distance. this makes it
impossible to beat the game on expert since eventually the damage taken
and sheer enemy numbers will kill

Hi Yohandy,
I would imagine you can use the same strategy on expert as you can on any
other level.

Hi Philip.
As I was saying to Thomas regarding mysteries of the ancients earlier, I
really do think more could be done in terms of audio games and attack
avoidence, and using methods which wouldn't be too radical.
Blocking or using a weapon to parry an attack, is one idea. While

Hi Philip.
Usually, even in graphical games wolves would not telegraph their attacks
too much, other than perhaps occasionally jumping or pouncing towards
the player, - maybe a jumping sound to indicate the start of the pounce?
For most graphical games though, it's not enemies like

use
the same strategies as on other levels, but must
