Re: [Audyssey] needing urgent help with l works games and windowsseven
that's indeed it. However all the automated installers don't seem to work very well, best way to fix this is to copy dx7vb.dll and dx8vb.dll to C:\windows\system32/syswow64 or how ever that was and then register them with regsvr32. - Original Message - From: Liam Erven liamer...@gmail.com To: 'Gamers Discussion list' gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, December 24, 2010 7:54 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] needing urgent help with l works games and windowsseven I'm going to go out on a limb and say it has to do with not having vb6 runtimes. If anyoen else knows, please please please tell me. This is something that has been plaguing me for ever. Yet another reason I look forward to getting away from vb6. -Original Message- From: gamers-boun...@audyssey.org [mailto:gamers-boun...@audyssey.org] On Behalf Of Mauricio Almeida Sent: Friday, December 24, 2010 1:11 PM To: gamers@audyssey.org Subject: [Audyssey] needing urgent help with l works games and windows seven does anyone know why we get this error when running these games in windows seven machines? Re: [Audyssey] needing urgent help with l works games and windowsseven
Damian thinks it might be related to dx8. I wish I had a way to test, but don't have win7 on this machine. That's on my list of things to do. Though with moving to BGT, this may help a lot of those compatibility issues. -Original Message- From: gamers-boun...@audyssey.org [mailto:gamers-boun...@audyssey.org] On Behalf Of Thomas Ward Sent: Friday, December 24, 2010 3:22 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] needing urgent help with l works games and windowsseven Hi, That particular error is caused by a missing VB 6 activex component. I think you are aware by now that Windows 7 does not officially support Visual Basic 6 applications in any way, shape, or form? The only way to resolve errors like that is to install all the missing dependencies using something like Jim Kitchen's winkit setup, or installing the Microsoft Visual Basic 6 runtime setup for Win 95/98.
