I'm pretty sure this will not work. You need separate ports.

Can this be shared? A quick googling failed me here.
Can I configure a single one of these and accept messages from both gmetric and
sflow clients? We use a port per-service and run multiple gmonds per machine,
so it's considerably simpler to only use the one port as we have the
infrastructur
I'd recommend upgrading your Linux hosts to Ganglia >=3.2, and using
Host sFlow on the Windows hosts.
Ganglia >= 3.2 can decode the host-sflow counters, and incorporate the
the hosts into the Ganglia databases.

3.0 and 3.1 are not compatible, so you either :
1) build new binaries for 3.1.7 or newer and deploy it on windows
2) downgrade your s

Hi Arnau!
Well, some weeks ago there was some kind of discussion about the setup
that you want to use.

Hi all,
I'm new to list, so let me first say hello to everyone. My name is
Arnau Bria and I'm quite newbie when talking about ganglia.
We've been working with ganglia for a long time, but we have never
studied all its options. We use multicast and one gmetad that collects
from several clusters.
Hi,
Now I have ganglia accumulating metrics for a FreeBSD server (my
monitoring server) I turned to gathering metrics from Windows machines.
The only binaries I can find are for ganglia v3.0.0 but my monitoring
server is running 3.1.7.
Our Windows servers are mainly running 2003 with one or two
Daniel,
Thanks for that. I'd introduced a typo in the receive channel section
and telneting now returns data and rrd's are being created.
Alas, most of our hosts run Windows so I expected I'll be emailing the
list real soon now.

If it's not there, then
a) check you have a send channel defined in gmond.conf
b) check you have a receive channel defined in gmond.conf
gmond sends the metrics to itself over the channel: i
Hi,
I have recently installed ganglia 3.1.7 on a FreeBSD 8.1 server and
despite man gmond.conf and a great deal of googling I can't get any
sensible data from it.
I have installed gmetad and gmond on the same server.
I have attempted to configure them but telneting to port 8649 gives:
