i've had multiple requests from ganglia users for help in generating a real-time load-balanced MPI machinefile to use for spawning MPI jobs.
to get groups up and running until i have a strong C API, i've posted a perl script on the ganglia download page which will create a MPI machinefile on the fly, filtering out any nodes that are down and sorting by the number of available CPUs per node. it's short and sweet. all the configuration and installation instructions are found in the perl script itself so i won't bore you here. get it at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=43021 if you want it enjoy! -matt
