RTS IMPACTS FOR UF HOMECOMING AND VETERANS DAY
_GAINESVILLE, Fla_. - RTS bus service will be impacted this weekend
due to UF Homecoming festivities and the observation of Veterans Day.
Reduced service will be in place Friday, Nov. 8, with detours during
the Homecoming Parade. There will be no service Monday, Nov. 11 in
observation of Veterans Day.
On Friday, Nov. 8, RTS will provide reduced service on City Fixed
Routes 1, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17, 20, 23, 34, 35, 36 and 43. An
“R” on RTS route schedules indicates buses that run when RTS
reduces service on a route. There will be no service on City Fixed
Routes 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 38, 39, 42, 62 and 76. There are no
changes in service on the remaining City Fixed Routes. Routes 2, 7,
11, 15, 24, 25 and 75 will follow their regular fall 2013 schedule.
There will be regular ADA service.
Campus Shuttle Routes 117 (Park-N-Ride), 118 (Park-N-Ride), 119
(Family Housing), 120 (West Circulator/Frat Row), 122 (North/South
Circulator), 125 (Lakeside), 126 (East/West Circulator) and 127 (East
Circulator/Sorority Row) will operate on a reduced service schedule
this Friday. There will be no service on Route 121 (Commuter Lot).
During the Gator Homecoming Parade, RTS will have route detours
beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until the parade route is opened to
regular traffic. Historically, this has been around 2 p.m. There will
be route detours on Routes 1, 5, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 25, 34, 41, 118,
119, 120, 122, 125 and 127.
Gator Aider service will be available for Gator Growl, from the Oaks
Mall only, on Friday night. Saturday football game shuttle service
will run as normal. All City Fixed Routes and Campus Shuttle Routes
will follow their regular Saturday schedule. Sunday service will not
be impacted.
All RTS offices will be closed and bus service suspended on Monday,
in observance of Veterans Day. Normal service will resume Tuesday,
Nov. 12.
