If the decision is good; if they hire a coach with experience and success; if
they don’t hire another project, everything will be ok.
The current recruits appear to be waiting to see who we get. They’ll be on with
the right hire.
Let’s all be patient and see who we get.
It might turn out better than we expect.

Re: [gatortalk] Gators Yesterday

2017-11-05 Thread Ed Williamson
The issue was that Stricklin had built a case against Mac to fire him "for
cause". What this did was nullify grounds for Mac to receive his "buy out"
provision in his contract which would have been nearly $14 million. If he
waited until the end of the season, it would have negated proof of "show
cause". So, either the issue was large and true, therefore it demanded an
immediate termination or it was not sufficient to demand immediate termination
and Mac gets the $14 million. You do realize that we are still paying Muschamp
his buy out money because of the way Foley mishandled that situation.
Stricklin handled correctly and the only way to keep that money available to
hire a new coach and fund the contracts for the new coach and staff.

Re: [gatortalk] Gators Yesterday

2017-11-05 Thread Charles Simpson
It was one of the most uninspired efforts by the Gators I've seen in a long
time. Probably only a couple of the bowl disasters equaled it. There might not
be another win this season. Our besr shot at a win would be UAB but don't count
on it. BTW we ought to be takning a look at Bill Clarke UAB's coach. It's a
minor miracle what's he's done with that team.
