I thought that there might be several of us interested in this even
right in our backyard:

about the conference

The 2006 Annual Philadelphia Trans-health Conference is a FREE event!

Dates: March 2-4, 2006
Location: Philadelphia Convention Center, 12th and Arch Streets
Press Release: Forthcoming

This location is wheelchair accessible, easy to reach by public
transportation, and has plenty of parking (for a fee).

What is this conference about?

This conference will bring together transgender and gender-variant
people, partners, allies and healthcare providers for three days of
workshops, keynotes, discussion, and networking. Because
accessible, respectful and quality healthcare is linked to self-
determining our bodies and identities in a larger world, this
conference seeks to explore themes related to enjoying rich, full
lives, and building movements and communities for justice.

Given the success of last year's conference and the feedback we
received from attendees, we are continuing to offer the conference
over three days.

The first day, Thursday, is Provider's Day. It will focus on
practitioner training—discussions and presentations that help local
practitioners better understand our perspectives and needs. The
last two days, Friday and Saturday, are community days and will be
focused on transpeople and our health concerns.
