Here are the details of the Zoom TV show on homosexuality to be aired this Saturday (16th April) at 10 p.m. It sounds like it's going to be pretty interesting, both because I'm told that Wendell has done a really good job plus it will be interesting to see the reactions of a senior police officer, Commissioner of Police, Nasik, Himanshu Roy. This is also the programme on which S., one of the GB regulars has spoken up about the blackmail network that is targetting gay men in Mumbai. S. has actually met the blackmailers involved and I've been following and chronicling this story for a while, but some of the things he says startled even me for how brazen these guys are. Kudos to S. for speaking out, and don't miss seeing it, Vikram Goan designer Wendell Rodricks features in a special programme on ZooM TV to be aired this week. The shown named "Just Pooja" has model and TV host Pooja Bedi interviewing Wendell Rodricks on the aspects of homosexuality and society's reaction to the same. The aim of the programme is to get the Indian Government to amend Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. This law introduced by the British pertains to all individuals who indulge in any sex that is considered "against the laws of nature". Hence even a heterosexual couple indulging in oral or anal sex is liable for upto 10 years imprisonment. Strangely the British who introduced the law in colonial India have amended their own laws in the UK, making consensual sex between adults legal. The "Just Pooja" show with Wendell Rodricks as the main guests also invites the Law on the show. Commissioner of Police, Nasik, Himanshu Roy joins Wendell Rodricks to give his views on Section 377. In the programme gay persons speak openly about how this Section is used to blackmail gays and how certain policemen are also involved in extorting money from the general public in the name of this law. During the show an opinion poll will be taken to decide the fate of Section 377. Wendell is Goa's most well known fashion designer of international repute and is also a columnist and a researcher. The show airs at 10 p.m. on 16th April on ZooM Television. The new "Just Pooja" show is merely three episodes old and is causing a sensation for its choice of controversial social topics.
