I've just had a look at gdb PR 2024 and disagree with the comment backtrace
fails when function ends with call to abort. The following code also ehibits
the problem noted here.

Just for the record, I've pasted the incorrect gdb output for the second
backtrace. It is as follows:

A discussion on another mailing list revealed the page

the bug is in libstdc++ and can be overcome by setting

Whilst this bug has been marked as resolved, I am still experiencing the same
problems (with arts-1.4.91 - the version shipped with KDE 35. Beta 1).
My gcc version info : gcc (GCC) 4.1.0
