The language regarding OpenACC routines have changed in OpenACC 2.5 such that the end user must explicitly specify one of gang, worker, vector or seq partitioning. I guess some other compiler need those directives to generate specialized versions of those functions accordingly. However, GCC

Because variable-sized types are first-class citizens in Ada, the compiler factors out size (and offset) computations into size functions in order to make these types less heavyweight to manipulate. The counterpart is that it needs to inline back these size functions into regular expressions
