Well, I definitely don't think the generic scripts like se.py and fs.py are
something to preserve, but unless we're prepared to break them and throw
them out, then we have to figure out some way to maintain compatibility.

This is one of the main use cases for the components in the component
library. The idea behind the component library is to have the SimObjects be
*models* which only have parameters and no instantiated objects. Then, the
*components* would tie together specific instances of SimObjects
