[gem5-dev] DVFS/PSCI

Hi folks! I've been educating myself about how ARM's big/LITTLE setup is
supposed to work as far as the kernel is concerned, and that's led me to
look at gem5's DVFS support. I see that it sets up an artificial device to
manage clock and voltage domains and that it would require a gem5 specific
driver in the kernel to work properly.

I see a lot of mention of a thing called PSCI in the Linux kernel docs, and
while I don't know much about it, I know that it's a firmware thing which I
think is responsible for power state management, maybe a bit like ACPI.

Is there or has there been any attempt to use those two together and to
provide a PSCI implementation which knows how to talk to the special gem5
DVFS device? If not, has there been any investigation in that direction?

This isn't something we need right now, but I think it would be handy to
have and may become more important in the future.
