Hello,
Is distributed-gem5 supported with x86 ISA?
I found this thread
(https://www.mail-archive.com/gem5-users@gem5.org/msg15134.html) from 2018
saying it was not supported back then.
I'm wondering if there has been any follow-up work in this direction.
Thank you,
Varun

This should not happen. Without a list of hosts, mpirun should launch all

Hello,
I have looked at the output message again, and it gave the following
message;
info: m5 checkpoint called with non-zero delay => triggering immediate
checkpoint (at the next sync)
So, I look at the source code that print out that message, and the
following is the code snippet,

Hi,
What you have should work. Are you sure that you start the application
after the checkpoint command (you don't block any where?)? E.g. what would
be the output if you add an echo right before starting the MPI app:
/sbin/m5 checkpoint 50
/sbin/m5 loadsymbol
/sbin/m5 resetstats
Hello,
I am trying to checkpoint dist-gem5 in the middle of the execution of the
application.
The following is my script file that used to run dist-gem5 (with 2 nodes)
after boot up Linux.

Hi All,
Previously I have been using dist-gem5, and I would get ports listening for
terminal connections. Recently I updated my gem5 repo, and now I get a warning
warn: Sockets disabled, not accepting terminal connections
Can someone please suggest as to how can I enable them in dist-gem5, so
Hi Biruk,
You should write and script and pass it to the simulated nodes. You can
look at util/dist/test/simple_bootscript.rcS to have an idea how to write a
dist-gem5 run script. It's pretty much the same as how you pass run scripts
to single node gem5.
Also, you may want to go through these
How do I communicate (interact) with the simuleted gem5 nodes in dist gem5
though I do get the log.0 to log.n-1 output at rundir, I couldnt interact
with them.
in short how do I log in and test ping among them
thanks

Hi All,
I did run the dist-gem5 for four systems, mean 1 server and the other 3
clients.
My intention is to create communication between them,
now i could see their out put from rundir directory but does not let me to
login and test ping among them if they communicate or not.

Hi Yasir,
Can you try to enable synchronization before you take checkpoint? You can
set the start time of synchronization with "--dist-sync-start" option.
Also, please use checkpoint pseudo instruction with a non-zero delay (e.g.
"/sbin/m5 checkpoint 1") to take an immediate checkpoint.

Hi,
I am running a Dist GEM-5 simualtion with two nodes, one as server and the
other as client. I also have a switch in between them.
I have an etherlink (DistEtherLink) between them. The problem is that I can't
ping the server from the client side and vice-versa. So there is no
communication
