I like to use https://lwn.net/ to keep up with everything. It's a bit more
technically dense than reddit and stuff but I prefer it that way.

I've played with .net core extensively on linux, I was able to host a
postgres/asp.net core website behind nginx on linux with relative ease on
aws. The load times were quite impressive(300-400ms without caching). I
think the future of .net is very bright due to their linux adoption.
