According to the current documentation on labs lab '' should show the lab status.
However, experimentation (in jqt) suggests that it does one of two things: (*) When not in a lab, it displays the text 'first open a lab' (*) When in a lab, it brings up the lab selection dialog, which allows us to select a different lab (or the current lab). This seems like incorrect behavior. If the purpose is to select a lab, there's no reason to not provide that functionality when already in a lab. If the purpose is to show the user where they are in the current lab, it does not achieve that. I think that, hypothetically speaking, it would be great if we could use the lab verb to navigate within labs or even to navigate across labs. But that first requires that I be able to understand what I am doing.
