Chris, That was what I needed to know. Thanks. Meanwhile I found that the slow processing was due to my slow internet connection. I've got a new problem that I will be trying to solve in a new thread, likely: my jqt app using openGL depends on the graphics screen and I am finding that the dimensions or resolution of that screen are quite different on different devices, but are important to the viewing experience. I don't know how to manage that.
