Only xerces-dist1 (which nothing depends on) depends on xerces1.
Xerces-1, doesn't build in JDK1.5.
Is it time to remove it from the descriptors?

BTW: What was the outcome xerces (Gump name) != xerces2 (Maven name). Would
we chose this time to make a change there?

You mean xalan? I don't think xerces has been an issue. Or was there?

xerces:xerces is the maven name (there is also xerces:xmlParserAPIs
and xerces:xercesImpl in older ones I think).
And xalan:xalan.
I think the 2 was in the gump name?
