Looks pretty distinct to me.
I agree, the risk that people confuse those two seems
Imo this also depends if someone has already contributed heavily to the project
or had almost no impact at all.
If he contributed lots of things and did a good work in the past, then I'd say
we should keep him on the list.
But if he haven't really contributed to the project I'd be +1 for

Hi all,
together with a friend I am running a small project with a small community.
Its already dependent to Apache log4php. Since Zeta Components entered the
incubator we have the strong feeling that Zeta will help us one many
corners. In other terms, we want to make our project dependent to
Oy. I started by posting a process question about where to go with the
results of the PPMC vote. I think that can't have been wrong on
@general. Then people started adding votes. That was wrong at
@general. So I opened a new thread for voting on @private

I'd like to formally propose a new project for the incubator, Apache

As I attempted to politely make clear earlier I find this name extremely

I think its generally a good idea if projects don't use their names to imply

Gotta agree with David here. I'd prefer a less ambiguous name.

There are a few Incubator projects that have small communities. I see
no problem with trying it. You could certainly get some better
visibility here, in order to grow your community.

I think the title of the name change is a little misleading.
We are not Replacing 'Lucene' with 'Apache' .
Apache is a given.
IOW - The proposal is either:
Change Apache Lucene Connectors Framework to Apache Connectors Framework
or:
Change Lucene Connectors Framework to Connectors Framework
IMO the main thing to be careful about is to not look at committership from
the traditional organizational structure approach. Committership is a means
to an end (modifying code) but we are also interested in getting that person
