+1 here as well, with a similar note about the output file names.

One oddity, which you may want to address at some point, is that the build
artifacts include "gremlin" in the binary distribution. This is odd
because the project is now known as "tinkerpop" and not "gremlin"

Thanks Julian,
I updated the proposal to be more explicit regarding my intentions to act as a
mentor as well.

Looking at the list, we typically target 3 mentors. I see that already on
this proposal, so I'm not sure that more are needed. Plus its only 5
committers, so its a good balance. It also helps that many are already
familiar with the ASF and the champion is already considering himself in

In the Quickstep proposal, Roman explicitly listed himself as both Champion and
Mentor. I think that is a good model to follow. If someone lists themselves
only as Champion would I assume that their responsibilities end shortly after
incubation starts.
To use the “it takes a village” metaphor,
Thanks for the input Henry!
I've seen proposals in the past come with what seems like a fully-baked list of
mentors, and others with a short list that could obviously benefit from having
more mentors and are looking for volunteers.
I think Gossip falls into the latter category and would
I would recommend getting more mentors to help. Especially almost half of
initial committers are not from Apache and the other half seemed very busy
with other projects.

IMHO, the discussion is not necessary. But yes I think it's best to retire.

Following a discussion[1], the Concerted community has voted to retire the
project from incubation[2]. Per the retirement guide[3], the next step is an
IPMC vote for retirement. Are there any objections or comments? If not, I shall
start a vote shortly.

Bump.
Are there any further comments/questions on the proposal? Or should we proceed
with a VOTE?

Hello Incubator PMC,
This is a call for a vote on the Apache Geode (incubating) release
1.0.0-incubating.M2.
This release candidate, 1.0.0-incubating.M2.RC2, has successfully passed a
vote for a release
on the geode developer mailing list.
Vote thread:
+1. LICENSE, NOTICE, DISCLAIMER and rat check look good. The signatures look
good as well. I didn’t find any binary files in the distribution.

Could someone please take a moment to review the releases we currently have
up for vote on these two threads:
https://pony-poc.apache.org/thread.html/Ztztl5n4bxvxuzv
https://pony-poc.apache.org/thread.html/Z5lkapl59ws1p7h
We still need a couple more votes to close out this release.
On Sun,
+ 1 (binding).
Good work folks, looking forward to see the community engagement remains
healthy.
