I propose that we graduate Apache Mynewt from the incubator.

Hey John,
I think the VOTE should be recalled based upon looking at newt. I’ll
admit — all my testing was on the git tags for the release, and not
the tarballs themselves. As a FYI, what happened is that only the newt
directory got released in newt tarball instead of the TLD:
I just want to clarify here on the thread —- while I think in general
there may be problems with too many podlings/inactive mentors, that is
not an issue we often face.
It is simply that this release came at a time when some of our mentors
were busy, and we want to get a release out the door—
Hi,
It’s been 5 days since the start of the vote thread — we’re
waiting on 2 more votes +1 — already passed podling PMC.
Can folks jump in?
Thanks,

Trying to get this out, we have one +1 binding vote on general@ (from

The release has passed the podling PMC unanimously -- please help us get
this out, as we're approaching the end of the vote window (we may be
past it.) This is the 4th release we're

Personally tested release on Arduino Zero and Simulated environments.
Have seen it working on NRF51, NRF52 environments.

As Justin mentions this is a bit rough, but it is a v0.8-b1 release, and
it's been very good for the podling to go through the process of a full
release.

I'd like to also offer to mentor, if you need one. I'm involved with

Just a note to chime in specifically on Mynewt.
The simulated tests are very low overhead, its a single process that
requires a virtual timer (i.e. elapsed runtime from OS scheduler vs
real time) at a 1ms tick.
There is no requirement to have physical hardware testing within the
ASF project
