Allura has four Mentors. You've voted, but where are the others?

I wonder this as well :(

This one has been relocating his family from the UK to the US and is a long
way behind on non-work related activities.

The good news is that I'm now in a permanent home for the next 10 months
and my furniture is clearing customs as we speak. My family and I will have
chairs to sit on soon :-D

Apologies for not being present for your first release vote.

[ANNOUNCE] Apache Falcon 0.3-incubating released

2013-09-11 Thread Srikanth Sundarrajan
Hello,

The Apache Falcon team is pleased to announce the release of version
0.3-incubating from the Apache Incubator. Falcon is a data processing and
management solution for Hadoop designed for data motion, coordination of data
pipelines, lifecycle management, and data discovery. Falcon enables end
consumers to quickly onboard their data and its associated processing and
management tasks on Hadoop clusters.

Link to release notes:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=12314429version=12324423

The most recent source release can be obtained from an Apache Mirror:
http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/incubator/falcon

For general information on Apache Falcon, please visit the project website:
http://falcon.incubator.apache.org

Disclaimer:
Apache Falcon is an effort undergoing incubation at the Apache Software
Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator PMC.

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review
indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process
have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects.

While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or
stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully
endorsed by the ASF.

Regards,
The Curator Team

[PROPOSAL]

2013-09-11 Thread Fábio Basso
Hello,

My name is Fábio and a have interest in host an Apache project for
incubation.

I have been working since 2005 in a software to produce Model-Driven
Development based applications (different than Andremeda). This software is
namely WCT.

Since 2010, this project is being hosted at source-forge.net as an open
source-project with Apache 2.0 license. This software is currently being
used in some companies and also by three software engineering research
groups among different brasilian universities: 1) Federal University of Rio
de Janeiro (UFRJ); 2) Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC); and 3)
UNIJUÍ.

I have been (in turtle steps) providing information about the WCT project.
I have followed the recomendation of Apache, in a web page hosted at
http://prisma.cos.ufrj.br/wct/ . Sorry ... I use the old template of the
ANT project because I have no time to produce my own.

Since I have have been asked to spread this tool for others, I have to take
WCT out of our research groups, in order to became independent of companies
or groups, etc. Thus, I wan't it to became an Apache project. In order to
improve the tool, this is important to achieve some help from community
that have interest in this tool.

I guess that it is possible to begin an analysis for incubation, since
important information about this project is available at
http://prisma.cos.ufrj.br/wct/. Moreover, cientific details about WCT are
found at http://www.researchgate.net/profile/Fabio_Basso/

Thank you.
