Jim, I would be pleased to pass you the batton. You most certainly will be
a better mentor than I could be.

Daniel of course has a much deeper expertise for infra as I'm mostly an
occasional tinkerer and Daniel is one of our core server admins.
Feel free to swap me out in favour of him.
I expect that we go through different phases

I am unaware, that taking press requests is part of mentor duties. One

Hi at all
As a ex Committer and PMC from Apache OpenOffice and contributor to
the legacy OpenOffice.org project, I will keep a close eye on this.
Infrastructure seems to be similar to OpenOffice. How ever, the
Project is a different one.

Jim is always good to have on board. Unbeatable expertise and he knows how to
deal with the good, the bad and the ugly of Oracle on a big scale as well.

Thanks for your offer!
What do the other mentors think?
We are four mentors already which is

Hi John,

Understand if we are getting to too large a number though.

Regarding GPL licensed plugins:
I guess there will be a need for 2 plugin repos. One 'core' for plugins which
are ALv2, another one for the rest. Similar to what we had with apacheextras.
Of course this gets much tougher for parts Oracle cannot re-license under ALv2
but are needed by the core.
Hi Bertrand, Geertjan,
I too share some of the infra concerns Daniel's pointed out. For instance,
where it is referenced one large hg repository, I count 33 repositories
hosted on hg.netbeans.org. Some of them haven't been maintained in a
while, so I wonder if they're relevant or not.
I'm also

What is the expected impact on infrastructure here? I see a lot of
mentions of moving existing infrastructure to the ASF, I see very little
about what it really entails and how large it is.
For instance, what is plugins.netbeans.org and what's the setup there like?
With regards,
Daniel.
