Because I'm just that kinda guy

2002-03-03 Thread Andrew C. Oliver

Hi All,

While I was adding a news blurb out POI's logo contest, I fixed a little
issue with methodology.xml. I changed the encoding type to ISO-8859-1
so that it would build for me. If this is wrong, no problem, feel free
to change it but it cleared up the error for me.

PS - awesome job on the manual. Kinda think it should say something
like Apache Jakarta Manual instead of Apache Manual because I'm
kinda nitpicky. . Kinda guess the httpd folks have a whole 'nother
world...maybe I'm wrong..

Thanks,

Andy

PS. if someone gets around to updating the web I'd appreciate it.

POI web update

2002-03-03 Thread Andrew C. Oliver

Hi, We've committed a number of changes to the POI site. If someone
with requisite karma could apply this on the http server we'd appreciate
it.

Thanks,

Andy

I just did a cvs update in /www/jakarta.apache.org/poi on daedalus. A
bunch of the files were owned by remm with 644 for permissions, but the
directories were 775, so I was able to overwrite the files. Remy may want
to change his umask to 002 to avoid potential update problems.

Sam,

Would it be possible to add another site (latka) into that list?

Re: cvs commit: jakarta-site/xdocs index.xml

2002-03-03 Thread Ceki Gülcü

I disagree with this change because it gives the impression that
LogKit is a top level jakarta project which is not the case. The
addition is placed just to log4j giving the impression that the two
packages have equal footing. This misleads the users to think there
are two logging packages sanctioned by the Jakarta project.

I am undoing this change pending a decision by the PMC or any other
collective decision. Regards, Ceki

ps: I went away on vacation on the 23rd of February and came back just
today so I could not react earlier.
