[site] killing vendors page

2005-02-21 Thread Henri Yandell
Still deliberating killing the vendors page. I suggested killing it before, one of the vendors (sorry, can't find your email now) replied very gracefully and I put it on the 'think about later' queue in my head. Analysis of the current vendor page: 3GS LLC - No website at www.3gsllc.com

I like having a wiki page for this sort of thing - allow the community itself to maintain such lists. Erik On Feb 21, 2005, at 10:27 AM, Henri Yandell wrote: Still deliberating killing the vendors page. I suggested killing it before, one of the vendors (sorry, can't find your email now)

I'd suggest that we talk to the PRC about it. There are some good things about a vendors page. Erik makes an interesting point about the Wiki, but it would mean that we couldn't vet it for content to prevent grossly misleading content. --- Noel

2005-02-21 Thread Mark Thomas
Hi, Having just dealt with the issue below I was thinking where else, other than the Tomcat User mailing list this information needed to be sent? That got me thinking about the wider issue of handling security issues at Jakarta/Apache. I went looking for, but failed to find, answers to the

This is now live :) 'Source Repositories' became 'CVS / SVN' for space reasons. Couldn't think of any other way to handle it. Redirects added. Couple of bugfixes then made for the Cactus and Taglibs pages. I'm going to send an announcement mail to each dev list as they all need to know that

[site] New Jakarta download pages

2005-02-21 Thread Henri Yandell
(Bcc'd to all Jakarta dev lists) Partly an announcement that the Jakarta download pages have been changed somewhat. Rather than one huge page, it's a whole set of pages. So when time comes to do your next release, you modify site/downloads/downloads.xml and run ant. Source, binary and

[site] More pages to delete

2005-02-21 Thread Henri Yandell
Continuing my quest to reduce the Jakarta site to a 'under construction' image: * Delete packageversioning* files. * Delete versioning.html. * Delete idedevelopers.html. Nothing within the Jakarta site links to these pages. - Versioning is a nice enough document, but not one that we use

[site] FAQs page

2005-02-21 Thread Henri Yandell
Last for the night I swear. Is there any life in the FAQs page? http://jakarta.apache.org/site/faqs.html A good portion of the FAQs have moved to TLP. The ApacheForge section is utterly redundant by the Incubator now, the servlet/jsplinks at the bottom are better placed on Tomcat's site and that
