Type:

cd /www/jakarta.apache.org/site
cvs login

password is "anoncvs"

Nothing needs to be changed. This is actually yet another reason why I like
storing the "compiled" files in CVS. You can easily duplicate the site
across multiple machines in case one goes down.

Craig,

Sorry, I thought I had changed the umask long ago, sigh.

Stefan had already fixed up jakarta-site2. I noticed that my recent updates
to jakarta-tomcat-site had whacked the permissions there too due the bad
umask. These have been fixed as well.

Fixed. Sorry. I'm usually pretty meticulous about permissions.

Worked for me too ;)

To add on this, I've just done a cvs update on daedalus that
successfully updated binindex, news and sourceindex.

I've changed the CVS root for the directories under control of the
jakarta-site2 module to use :pserver: as user anoncvs on
cvs.apache.org days ago - this should work.

What kind of problems do you see?

jakarta-site2 process changes needed (heads up)

2001-07-19 Thread Craig R. McClanahan

Heads up ... the old process for updating the Jakarta web site no longer
works, since the CVS repositories are no longer present on daedalus. It's
too late tonight, or I'd actually figure out how to update fix -- but
wanted to warn anyone else who was going to try. The workaround is to use
scp from your generated copies of the HTML files (instead of using cvs
update on daedalus).

Also, there are three files in the /www/jakarta.apache.org/site directory
that have incorrect permissions that disallow anyone else from updating
them. Marc and Daniel, *please* set your umask values to 002 so that this
doesn't happen again, and also update the permissions to add group write
on the following files:

  binindex.html (marcsaeg owner)
  mail.html (dfs owner)
  sourceindex.html (marcsaeg owner)
