I have decided to use app-cdr/dvdrtools rather than
app-cdr/cdrecord-prodvd to burn my DVDs because app-cdr/dvdrtools comes
with a GPL2 license. However, the last stable version in portage is
0.1.6 and this version can't use ATA devices without SCSI emulation
contrary to the 0.2.1

there's already a bug open in bugzilla about this ... no point in posting to
the mailing list as well

I've not been able to move my dvd burner from my server over to my
development box yet so I have not been able to look at it yet. (the
joys of moving hardware between machines :-P when both need it. Well
hopefully not much longer as I'll be replacing
