Please leave ACCT_USER_HOME at the default and create /var/spool/cron in
the cronie ebuild (with whatever permissions it needs). The user doesn't
need a home directory, and other packages might want to use it.

[gentoo-dev] RFC: UID/GID assignment for redis (75)

2019-11-12 Thread Tomas Mozes
Hello,
Redis allocated UID/GID 75 via the user eclass, converting to
acct-user/group in PR:

[gentoo-dev] RFC: UID/GID assignment for cron (16)

2019-11-12 Thread Lars Wendler
I would like to reserve UID/GID 16 for cron which is being used by
sys-process/cronie

This is the historical UID/GID for cron user in Gentoo.
Arch is using UID/GID 22 while Fedora does not have such a user/group.

[gentoo-dev] RFC: GID assignment for crontab (44)

2019-11-12 Thread Lars Wendler
I would like to reserve GID 44 for crontab which is being used by
sys-process/cronie. That group does neither exist in Arch nor in
Fedora, so I took the liberty to choose one GID that I can memorize
easily :)
