This is what epause() is for, or ebeep() if you really want people to notice. Repoman should be yelling at you about lack of quotes here. Are you on the latest version? You could change these to fperms/fowners while you're fixing. net-misc/asterisk-addons-1.2.x is due to be removed soon as 1.4.x
