Ok, it seems there are no objections so I will implement NETBEANS_MODULES within several hours. We also discussed whether to use NETBEANS_MODULES in USE_EXPAND at #gentoo-dev and agreed on that it will be ok to implement it. Miroslav Šulc (fordfrog) Gentoo Java Team Miroslav Šulc (fordfrog) napsal(a): Hi, I'd like to add NETBEANS to USE_EXPAND. Netbeans (www.netbeans.org) is modular IDE with 18 modules (clusters). Users can freely choose what support thay want to build in netbeans, though some modules need other modules to compile and work. Are there any objections? Here are the modules/clusters: IUSE_NETBEANS=+netbeans_apisupport netbeans_cnd netbeans_groovy netbeans_gsf +netbeans_harness +netbeans_ide netbeans_identity netbeans_j2ee +netbeans_java netbeans_mobility +netbeans_nb netbeans_php netbeans_profiler netbeans_soa netbeans_visualweb netbeans_webcommon netbeans_websvccommon netbeans_xml Btw, there is also request for this in bugzilla: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211455 I'd like to put the ebuild in the main tree soon as upstream just released it and we have in the tree only 5.5.1 which is very old. Thanks for your comments. Miroslav Šulc (fordfrog) Gentoo Java Team
Sorry for top post... it isn't my normal behavior. I would be interested. I have always compiled my own and I have time to help. Best part is that I need an excuse to get back to working with gentoo again. I'm not sure what sort of duties you are looking to have performed but I'll tell a bit about me. I used to follow LKML for fun and to keep abreast of what was going on. I know how to use patch -p1. I've been a unix and linux admin for 7 years now. I currently hold a QA position with a software company. I learned to submit good bugs from years of using open source and have familiarity with several bug tracking suites. Bugzilla has changed some since I've used it but I'm sure I'll be able to pick it up quickly. What else would you like to know? ./owen Daniel Drake wrote: I'm looking to find one or more people to help out with gentoo-sources-2.6 maintenance (our primary supported kernel). I'm looking for someone with at least: - Interest in kernel stuff, or a desire to become interested - Time to put towards the tasks - Enthusiasm to ask lots of questions rather than let stuff sit around - Basic experience with bugzilla - Basic kernel experience (i.e. you can compile your own) Having knowledge of kernel internals or experience with kernel hacking are NOT requirements because if you have time, interest and ask a lot of questions then these will come anyway. A lot of the work doesn't involve technical stuff, plus I was certainly very clueless about all this when I originally got involved a few years ago. Being an existing Gentoo developer is not a requirement. Most of the work is done on bugzilla and via email. This may be a good opportunity to get involved with development and later become a Gentoo developer for those that are interested.
Hi all, We have 1 open council slot because jokey got busy with real life. The council decided to open nominations for the next week, until 23:59 UTC Friday. Shortly after that, we will begin a week-long voting period. If you would like to nominate someone, please subscribe to the gentoo-council mailing list and reply to this email, ensuring it's sent there. -- Thanks, Donnie Donnie Berkholz Developer, Gentoo Linux Blog: http://dberkholz.wordpress.com pgpnOhmuMkzca.pgp Description: PGP signature
